And if We had made him an angel, We would have made him [appear as] a man, and We would have covered them with that in which they cover themselves.

Had We made him an angel, We would have surely made him a man, and We would have surely confounded them just as they confound [the truth now].

Had we appointed him (Our messenger) an angel, We assuredly had made him (as) a man (that he might speak to men); and (thus) obscured for them (the truth) they (now) obscure.

If We had made it an angel, We should have sent him as a man, and We should certainly have caused them confusion in a matter which they have already covered with confusion.

And had We made him an angel, yet assuredly We would have made him a man, and confused for them the thing which they themselves are confusing.

[این مغالطه گران لجوج می گویند: چرا پیامبر از جنس فرشتگان نیست؟] اگر او را فرشته ای قرار می دادیم، یقیناً وی را به شکل مردی در می آوردیم، و قطعاً حقیقت را همانطور که آنان بر دیگران مُشتبه می کنند [به سزای لجاجتشان] بر خود آنان مُشتبه می ساختیم، [تا بر فرض پیامبر قرار دادن فرشته، باز بگویند: چرا پیامبری از جنس بشر برای ما قرار داده است؟]

و اگر او را فرشته‌ای قرار می‌دادیم، حتماً وی را [به صورت‌] مردی در می‌آوردیم، و امر را همچنان بر آنان مشتبه می‌ساختیم.

Biz onu melek kılsaydık, bir insan şeklinde yapardık da, düştükleri şüpheye onları yine düşürmüş olurduk.

Dan kalau Kami jadikan rasul itu malaikat, tentulah Kami jadikan dia seorang laki-laki dan (kalau Kami jadikan ia seorang laki-laki), tentulah Kami meragu-ragukan atas mereka apa yang mereka ragu-ragukan atas diri mereka sendiri.

اگر ہم پیغمبر کو فرشتہ بھی بناتے تو بھی مرد ہی بناتے اور وہی لباس پہنچاتے جو مرد پہنا کرتے ہیں

যদি আমি কোন ফেরেশতাকে রসূল করে পাঠাতাম, তবে সে মানুষের আকারেই হত। এতেও ঐ সন্দেহই করত, যা এখন করছে।
