And they had thought, as you thought, that Allah would never send anyone [as a messenger].

They thought, just as you think, that Allah will not raise anyone from the dead.

And indeed they supposed, even as ye suppose, that Allah would not raise anyone (from the dead) -

'And they (came to) think as ye thought, that Allah would not raise up any one (to Judgment).

and they thought, even as you also thought, that God would never raise up anyone.

و مردانی از انس پنداشتند چنان که شما [جنیان] پنداشتید که خدا هرگز کسی را [به نبوّت] برنمی انگیزد!

و آنها [نیز] آن گونه که [شما] پنداشته‌اید، گمان بردند که خدا هرگز کسی را زنده نخواهد گردانید.

"Doğrusu, onlar da sizin, Allah'ın kimseyi yeniden diriltmeyeceğinizi sandığınız gibi sanıda bulunmuşlardı."

Dan sesungguhnya mereka (jin) menyangka sebagaimana persangkaan kamu (orang-orang kafir Mekah), bahwa Allah sekali-kali tidak akan membangkitkan seorang (rasul)pun,

اور یہ کہ تمہاری طرح ان کا بھی خیال تھا کہ خدا کسی کو دوبارہ نہیں زندہ کرے گا

তারা ধারণা করত, যেমন তোমরা মানবেরা ধারণা কর যে, মৃত্যুর পর আল্লাহ তা’আলা কখনও কাউকে পুনরুত্থিত করবেন না।
