زمین؛ مرکز اجتماع انسانها

در تفسیر این آیه کَفته اند: زمین قرارکاهی برای همة انسان هاست که زندگان را روی خود جمع می‌کند. تمام حوایج و نیازهایشان را در اختیارشان می‌گذارد و مردگان آنها را نیز در خود جا می‌دهد. تصور کنید اگر زمین آمادةٌ دفن مردگان نبودء عفونت و بیماری‌های ناشی از آن» فاجعه‌ای برای همةٌ زندگان به وجود می‌آورد. آری» زمین همچون مادری که فرزندان را دور خود جمع می‌کند و زیر بال و پر خویش قرار می دهد، انسان هارا روی خود جامی دهد، نوازش می کند، تغذیه می نماید، لباس می پوشاند، مسکن می‌دهد و همةٌ حوایجشان را تأمین می‌کند و مردگان آنها را نیز در دل خود نگاه می‌دارد و جذب می‌کند و آثار بد آنها را از بین می‌برد. در روایتی آمده است که امیرالمژمنین علی(ع) هنگامی که از میدان صفین باز می‌گشت. نزدیک کوفه رسید. هنگامی که چشمان مبارکش به قبرستانی که بیرون دروازةٌ کوفه بود»ء افتاد»ء فرمود: «این مرکز اجتماع مردگان است.»؛ یعنی منزلگاه‌های آنهاست. سپس نگاهی به خانه‌های کوفه کرد و فرمود: «این هم مرکز اجتماع زندگان است.» آنگاه این آیه را تلاوت کرد؛ اشاره به این که فاصلةٌ زیادی میان منازل زندگان و مردگان وجود ندارد.
