لَّآ لَكُمْ وَلَآ وَلَآ لَكُمْ إِنِّى إِنْ إِلَّا مَا إِلَىَّ هَلْ أَفَلَا ﴿٥٠﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

Say, [O Muhammad], "I do not tell you that I have the depositories [containing the provision] of Allah or that I know the unseen, nor do I tell you that I am an angel. I only follow what is revealed to me." Say, "Is the blind equivalent to the seeing? Then will you not give thought?"

علم غیب

مفسران در ذیل این جمله از آّیه که می‌فرماید «و من از غیب آگاه نیستم»» گفته‌اند معنای آیه این است که پیامبر(ص) به خودی خود و مستقلاً علم غیب ندارد؛ یعنی این‌گونه نیست که ایشان به طور ذاتی مجهز به نیرویی باشد که مطالبی را بداند که معمولاً از دیگران پوشیده است. همین آیه اما می‌فرماید که بر پیامبر(ص) وحی می‌شده و روشن است که ایشان به وسیلة وحی از غیب آگاه بوده است؛ چنان‌که در یات ۲۶ و ۷ سورةٌ جن می‌فرماید: «دانای غیب خداست و هیچ کس را بر اسرار غیبش آگاه نمی‌سازد. مگر پیامبرانی که آنان را برگزیده است.» پس هیچ مخلوقی از جمله پیامبر(ص) به خودی خود علم غیب ندارد؛ اما به خواست خدا و از طریق وحی یا طریق دیگری که خدا بخواهد, ممکن است از بخشی از غیب آگاه گردد.
