But those who wronged changed [those words] to a statement other than that which had been said to them, so We sent down upon those who wronged a punishment from the sky because they were defiantly disobeying.

But the wrongdoers changed the saying with other than what they were told. So We sent down on those who were wrongdoers a plague from the sky because of the transgressions they used to commit.

But those who did wrong changed the word which had been told them for another saying, and We sent down upon the evil-doers wrath from heaven for their evil-doing.

But the transgressors changed the word from that which had been given them; so We sent on the transgressors a plague from heaven, for that they infringed (Our command) repeatedly.

Then the evildoers substituted a saying other than that which had been said to them; so We sent down upon the evildoers wrath out of heaven for their ungodliness.

ولی ستمکاران، سخنی را که [بیرون دروازه شهر] به آنان گفته شده بود [پس از ورود به شهر] به سخنی دیگر تبدیل کردند [به جای درخواست ریزش گناهان، درخواست امور مادی کردند]. ما هم بر ستمکاران به سبب آنکه همواره نافرمانی می کردند، عذابی از آسمان فرود آوردیم.

اما کسانی که ستم کرده بودند، [آن سخن را] به سخن دیگری -غیر از آنچه به ایشان گفته شده بود- تبدیل کردند. و ما [نیز] بر آنان که ستم کردند، به سزای اینکه نافرمانی پیشه کرده بودند، عذابی از آسمان فرو فرستادیم.

Ama zulmedenler, kendilerine söylenmiş olan sözü başka sözle değiştirdiler. Biz de, zalimlere, yoldan çıkmalarından dolayı gökten azab indirdik.

Lalu orang-orang yang zalim mengganti perintah dengan (mengerjakan) yang tidak diperintahkan kepada mereka. Sebab itu Kami timpakan atas orang-orang yang zalim itu dari langit, karena mereka berbuat fasik.

مگر ظالموں نے جو بات ان سے کہی گئی تھی اسے بدل دیا تو ہم نے ان ظالموں پر ان کی نافرمانی کی بنا ئ پر آسمان سے عذاب نازل کر دیا

অতঃপর যালেমরা কথা পাল্টে দিয়েছে, যা কিছু তাদেরকে বলে দেয়া হয়েছিল তা থেকে। তারপর আমি অবতীর্ণ করেছি যালেমদের উপর আযাব, আসমান থেকে, নির্দেশ লংঘন করার কারণে।
