al-Mīzān

The "sealing" (khatm) is God's just law (sunna), not arbitrary compulsion: turning from guidance hardens the faculty — consistent with Adl (God wrongs none) and the Qurʾān's own account of cause and recompense.

Majmaʿ al-Bayānalso covers 7

Ẓāhir (apparent)

The two verses are read as one unit on those who have settled into denial: warning them or not is alike, for God has sealed their hearts and hearing, and a veil is on their sight — a sealing that is the consequence of their own persistent rejection, not a cause imposed before it.

Similar verses by meaning

Ranked by semantic similarity over translation embeddings — a model’s proxy for meaning, not a claim about it, and not tafsīr. Verses may be kin in theme while differing entirely in wording.

And it is all the same for them whether you warn them or do not warn them - they will not believe.

O you who have believed, if you obey those who disbelieve, they will turn you back on your heels, and you will [then] become losers.

Indeed, those upon whom the word of your Lord has come into effect will not believe,

Perhaps, [O Muhammad], you would kill yourself with grief that they will not be believers.

And those who disbelieve say, "We will never believe in this Qur'an nor in that before it." But if you could see when the wrongdoers are made to stand before their Lord, refuting…

And those who disbelieve say to those who believe, "Follow our way, and we will carry your sins." But they will not carry anything of their sins. Indeed, they are liars.
