وَلَقَدْ فِى ﴿١٦﴾

And We have placed within the heaven great stars and have beautified it for the observers.

برج‌های آسمان

بروج - جمع برج - در اصل به معنای ظهور است. به همین جهت. قسمت مخصوصی از دیوار اطراف شهر یا محل اجتماع لشکر که بروز و ظهور خاصی داردء برج نامیده می‌شود. منظور از برج‌های آسمانی, منزلگاه‌های خورشید و ماه است. به تعبیر دقیق‌تر» هنگامی که ما از کرة زمین به ماه و خورشید نگاه می‌کنیم» در هر فصل و موقعی از سال» آنها را در مقابل یکی از صورت‌های فلکی (مجموعة ستارگانی که شکل خاصی به خود گرفته‌اند) می‌بینیم و می‌گوییم: خورشید مثلا در برج حمل یا ثور یا میزان یا عقرب است. بدیهی است وجود این برج‌های آسمانی و منزلگاه‌های ماه و خورشید و آن نظام خاصی که برای حرکت این برج‌ها وجود دارد, تقویم مجسم جهان هستی ما را تشکیل می‌دهد و دلیل روشنی بر علم و قدرت آفریدگار عالم است.
