But the Jews and the Christians say, "We are the children of Allah and His beloved." Say, "Then why does He punish you for your sins?" Rather, you are human beings from among those He has created. He forgives whom He wills, and He punishes whom He wills. And to Allah belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, and to Him is the [final] destination.

The Jews and the Christians say, ‘We are Allah’s children and His beloved ones.’ Say, ‘Then why does He punish you for your sins?’ No, you are humans from among His creatures. He forgives whomever He wishes, and punishes whomever He wishes, and to Allah belongs the kingdom of the heavens and the earth, and whatever is between them, and toward Him is the return.

The Jews and Christians say: We are sons of Allah and His loved ones. Say: Why then doth He chastise you for your sins? Nay, ye are but mortals of His creating. He forgiveth whom He will, and chastiseth whom He will. Allah's is the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, and unto Him is the journeying.

(Both) the Jews and the Christians say: "We are sons of Allah, and his beloved." Say: "Why then doth He punish you for your sins? Nay, ye are but men,- of the men he hath created: He forgiveth whom He pleaseth, and He punisheth whom He pleaseth: and to Allah belongeth the dominion of the heavens and the earth, and all that is between: and unto Him is the final goal (of all)"

No; you are mortals, of His creating; He forgives whom He will, and He chastises whom He will.' و یهود و نصاری گفتند: ما پسران خدا و دوستان اوییم. بگو: [اگر گفتار شما درست است] پس چرا خدا شما را به گناهانتان عذاب می کند؟ بلکه شما هم بشری هستید از مخلوقاتی که خدا آفریده است. هر که را بخواهد می آمرزد، و هر که را بخواهد عذاب می کند. و مالکیّت و فرمانروایی آسمان ها و زمین و آنچه میان آن دو قرار دارد، فقط در سیطره خداست، و بازگشت به سوی اوست.

و یهودان و ترسایان گفتند: «ما پسران خدا و دوستان او هستیم.» بگو: «پس چرا شما را به [کیفر] گناهانتان عذاب می‌کند؟ [نه،] بلکه شما [هم‌] بشرید از جمله کسانی که آفریده است. هر که را بخواهد می‌آمرزد، و هر که را بخواهد عذاب می‌کند، و فرمانروایی آسمانها و زمین و آنچه میان آن دو می‌باشد از آن خداست، و بازگشت [همه‌] به سوی اوست.»

Yahudiler ve hıristiyanlar, "Biz Allah'ın oğulları ve sevgilileriyiz" dediler. "Öyleyse günahlarınızdan ötürü size niçin azabediyor? Bilakis siz O'nun yarattığı insanlarsınız" de, Allah dilediğini bağışlar, dilediğine azab eder. Göklerin, yerin ve ikisinin arasındakilerin hükümranlığı Allah'ındır. Dönüş O'nadır.

Orang-orang Yahudi dan Nasrani mengatakan: "Kami ini adalah anak-anak Allah dan kekasih-kekasih-Nya". Katakanlah: "Maka mengapa Allah menyiksa kamu karena dosa-dosamu?" (Kamu bukanlah anak-anak Allah dan kekasih-kekasih-Nya), tetapi kamu adalah manusia(biasa) diantara orang-orang yang diciptakan-Nya. Dia mengampuni bagi siapa yang dikehendaki-Nya dan menyiksa siapa yang dikehendaki-Nya. Dan Kepunyaan Allah-lah kerajaan antara keduanya. Dan kepada Allah-lah kembali (segala sesuatu).

اور یہودیوں نے یہ کہنا شروع کردیا کہ ہم اللہ کے فرزند اور اس کے دوست ہیں تو پیغمبر آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ پھر خدا تم پر تمہارے گناہوں کی بنا پر عذاب کیوںکرتا ہے ... بلکہ تم اس کی مخلوقات میں سے بشر ہو اور وہ جس کو چاہتا ہے بخش دیتا ہے اور جس پر چاہتا ہے عذاب کرتا ہے اور اس کے لئے زمین و آسمان اور ان کے درمیان کی کل کائنات ہے اور اسی کی طرف سب کی بازگشت ہے

ইহুদী ও খ্রীষ্টানরা বলে, আমরা আল্লাহর সন্তান ও তাঁর প্রিয়জন। আপনি বলুন, তবে তিনি তোমাদেরকে পাপের বিনিময়ে কেন শাস্তি দান করবেন? বরং তোমারও অন্যান্য সৃষ্ট মানবের অন্তর্ভুক্ত সাধারণ মানুষ। তিনি যাকে ইচ্ছা ক্ষমা করেন এবং যাকে ইচ্ছা শাস্তি প্রদান করেন। নভোমন্ডল, ভুমন্ডল ও এতদুভয়ের মধ্যে যা কিছু আছে, তাতে আল্লাহরই আধিপত্য রয়েছে এবং তাঁর দিকেই প্রত্যাবর্তন করতে হবে।
