If good befalls you, it distresses them; but if disaster strikes you, they say, "We took our matter [in hand] before," and turn away while they are rejoicing.

If some good should befall you, it upsets them; but if an adversity befalls you, they say, ‘We had already taken our precautions in advance,’ and they go away boasting.

If good befalleth thee (O Muhammad) it afflicteth them, and if calamity befalleth thee, they say: We took precaution, and they turn away well pleased.

If good befalls thee, it grieves them; but if a misfortune befalls thee, they say, "We took indeed our precautions beforehand," and they turn away rejoicing.

If good fortune befalls thee, it vexes them; but if thou art visited by an affliction, they say, 'We took our dispositions before', and turn away, rejoicing.

اگر [در میدان نبرد] پیروزی و غنیمت به تو رسد، غمگینشان می کند، و اگر تو را آسیب و زیانی رسد، می گویند: ما پیش از این تصمیم خود را [بر شرکت نکردن در جنگ] گرفته بودیم [و احتیاط را از دست ندادیم] و در حالی که خوشحال و شادمانند [به خانه و زندگی و به سوی امور مادی] بازمی گردند.

اگر نیکی به تو رسد آنان را بدحال می‌سازد، و اگر پیشامد ناگواری به تو رسد می‌گویند: «ما پیش از این تصمیم خود را گرفته‌ایم.» و شادمان روی بر می‌تابند.

Sana bir iyilik gelince onların fenasına gider; bir kötülük gelse, "Biz önceden ihtiyatlı davrandık" derler, sevinerek dönüp giderler.

Jika kamu mendapat suatu kebaikan, mereka menjadi tidak senang karenanya; dan jika kamu ditimpa oleh sesuatu bencana, mereka berkata: "Sesungguhnya kami sebelumnya telah memperhatikan urusan kami (tidak pergi perang)" dan mereka berpaling dengan rasa gembira.

ان کا حال یہ ہے کہ آپ تک نیکی آ تی ہے تو انہیں بفِی لگتی ہے اور کوئی مصیبت آجاتی ہے تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم نے اپنا کام پہلے ہی ٹھیک کرلیا تھا اور خوش و خرم واپس چلے جاتے ہیں

আপনার কোন কল্যাণ হলে তারা মন্দবোধ করে এবং কোন বিপদ উপস্থিত হলে তারা বলে, আমরা পূর্ব থেকেই নিজেদের কাজ সামলে নিয়েছি এবং ফিরে যায় উল্লসিত মনে।
