Those before them denied, and punishment came upon them from where they did not perceive.

Those who were before them impugned [the apostles], whereat the punishment overtook them whence they were not aware.

Those that were before them cried lies, then the chastisement came upon them from whence they were not aware;

کسانی [هم] که پیش از آنان بودند [آیات خدا را] تکذیب کردند، پس از آنجا که گمان نمی کردند، عذاب به سویشان آمد.

کسانی [هم‌] که پیش از آنان بودند به تکذیب پرداختند، و از آنجا که حدس نمی‌زدند عذاب برایشان آمد.

Onlardan öncekiler de peygamberleri yalanlamışlardı da farkına varmadıkları yerden onlara bir azap çatmıştı.

Orang-orang yang sebelum mereka telah mendustakan (rasul-rasul), maka datanglah kepada mereka azab dari arah yang tidak mereka sangka.

اور ان کّفار سے پہلے والوں نے بھی رسولوں علیھ السّلام کو جھٹلایا تو ان پر اس طرح سے عذاب وارد ہوگیا کہ انہیں اس کا شعور بھی نہیں تھا

তাদের পূর্ববর্তীরাও মিথ্যারোপ করেছিল, ফলে তাদের কাছে আযাব এমনভাবে আসল, যা তারা কল্পনাও করত না।
