وَلَوْ مَن فِى أَفَأَنتَ حَتَّىٰ ﴿٩٩﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

And had your Lord willed, those on earth would have believed - all of them entirely. Then, [O Muhammad], would you compel the people in order that they become believers?

قرآن حکیم (شرح آیات منتخب)

ایمان؛ موهبتی از خدا و انتخابی از انسان

ممکن است تصور شود که این آیه با ید بعد منافات دارد؛ زیرا این آیه می‌فرماید که خداوند کسی را به ایمان آوردن مجبور نمی‌کند و ید بعد می‌گوید که تا فرمان و ارادة خدا نباشدء کسی ایمان نمی‌آورد. توجه به یک نکته, این منافات ظاهری را برطرف می‌کند و آن این که ما عقیده داریم که نه «جبر» صحیح است و نه «تفویض» (واگذاری مطلق)؛ یعنی نه چنان است که مردم در اعمال خود مجبور و بی‌اختیار باشندء نه چنان که به تمام معنی به حال خود واگذار شده باشند؛ بلکه در عین آزادی اراده» باز به امداد الهی نیاز دارند. این آزادی اراده را خدا به انسان می‌دهد؛ عقل و خرد و وجدان پاک نیز از نعمت‌های اوست؛ ارشاد پیامبران(ع) و هدایت کتب آسمانی نیز از ناحیة اوست؛ بنابر این» در عین آزادی اراده باز هم سرچشمةٌ موهبت ایمان و آنچه محصول آن استء خداست.

  • وَلَوْ تَرَىٰٓ إِذْ وُقِفُوا۟ عَلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ قَالَ أَلَيْسَ هَٰذَا بِٱلْحَقِّ قَالُوا۟ بَلَىٰ وَرَبِّنَا قَالَ فَذُوقُوا۟ ٱلْعَذَابَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ

    If you could but see when they will be made to stand before their Lord. He will say, "Is this not the truth?" They will say, "Yes, by our Lord." He will [then] say, "So taste the…

  • فَلَا وَرَبِّكَ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ حَتَّىٰ يُحَكِّمُوكَ فِيمَا شَجَرَ بَيْنَهُمْ ثُمَّ لَا يَجِدُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ حَرَجًا مِّمَّا قَضَيْتَ وَيُسَلِّمُوا۟ تَسْلِيمًا

    But no, by your Lord, they will not [truly] believe until they make you, [O Muhammad], judge concerning that over which they dispute among themselves and then find within…

  • وَلَوْ شَآءَ رَبُّكَ لَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّاسَ أُمَّةً وَٰحِدَةً وَلَا يَزَالُونَ مُخْتَلِفِينَ

    And if your Lord had willed, He could have made mankind one community; but they will not cease to differ.

  • وَمَا مَنَعَ ٱلنَّاسَ أَن يُؤْمِنُوٓا۟ إِذْ جَآءَهُمُ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَيَسْتَغْفِرُوا۟ رَبَّهُمْ إِلَّآ أَن تَأْتِيَهُمْ سُنَّةُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ أَوْ يَأْتِيَهُمُ ٱلْعَذَابُ قُبُلًا

    And nothing has prevented the people from believing when guidance came to them and from asking forgiveness of their Lord except that there [must] befall them the [accustomed]…
