They said, "We will attempt to dissuade his father from [keeping] him, and indeed, we will do [it]."

    And spread [everything] before him, easing [his life].

  • أَوْ يَنفَعُونَكُمْ أَوْ يَضُرُّونَ

    Or do they benefit you, or do they harm?"

  • ٱرْجِعُوٓا۟ إِلَىٰٓ أَبِيكُمْ فَقُولُوا۟ يَٰٓأَبَانَآ إِنَّ ٱبْنَكَ سَرَقَ وَمَا شَهِدْنَآ إِلَّا بِمَا عَلِمْنَا وَمَا كُنَّا لِلْغَيْبِ حَٰفِظِينَ

    Return to your father and say, "O our father, indeed your son has stolen, and we did not testify except to what we knew. And we were not witnesses of the unseen,

  • كَلَّا لَئِن لَّمْ يَنتَهِ لَنَسْفَعًۢا بِٱلنَّاصِيَةِ

    No! If he does not desist, We will surely drag him by the forelock -
