And [mention, O Muhammad], when Abraham was tried by his Lord with commands and he fulfilled them. [Allah] said, "Indeed, I will make you a leader for the people." [Abraham] said, "And of my descendants?" [Allah] said, "My covenant does not include the wrongdoers."

When his Lord tested Abraham with certain words and he fulfilled them, He said, ‘I am making you the Imam of mankind.’ Said he, ‘And from among my descendants?’ He said, ‘My pledge does not extend to the unjust.’

And (remember) when his Lord tried Abraham with (His) commands, and he fulfilled them, He said: Lo! I have appointed thee a leader for mankind. (Abraham) said: And of my offspring (will there be leaders)? He said: My covenant includeth not wrong-doers.

And remember that Abraham was tried by his Lord with certain commands, which he fulfilled: He said: "I will make thee an Imam to the Nations." He pleaded: "And also (Imams) from my offspring!" He answered: "But My Promise is not within the reach of evil-doers."

And when his Lord tested Abraham with certain words, and he fulfilled them. He said, 'Behold, I make you a leader for the people.' Said he, 'And of my seed?' He said 'My covenant shall not reach the evildoers.'

و [یاد کنید] هنگامی که ابراهیم را پروردگارش به اموری [دشوار و سخت] آزمایش کرد، پس او همه را به طور کامل به انجام رسانید، پروردگارش [به خاطر شایستگی ولیاقت او] فرمود: من تو را برای همه مردم پیشوا و امام قرار دادم. ابراهیم گفت: و از دودمانم [نیز پیشوایانی برگزین]. [پروردگار] فرمود: پیمان من [که امامت و پیشوایی است] به ستمکاران نمی رسد.

و چون ابراهیم را پروردگارش با کلماتی بیازمود، و وی آن همه را به انجام رسانید، [خدا به او] فرمود: «من تو را پیشوای مردم قرار دادم.» [ابراهیم‌] پرسید: «از دودمانم [چطور]؟» فرمود: «پیمان من به بیدادگران نمی‌رسد.»

Rabbi İbrahim'i bir takım emirlerle denemiş, o da onları yerine getirmişti. Allah, "seni insanlara önder kılacağım" demişti. O "soyumdan da" deyince, "zalimler benim ahdime erişemez" buyurmuştu.

Dan (ingatlah), ketika Ibrahim diuji Tuhannya dengan beberapa kalimat (perintah dan larangan), lalu Ibrahim menunaikannya. Allah berfirman: "Sesungguhnya Aku akan menjadikanmu imam bagi seluruh manusia". Ibrahim berkata: "(Dan saya mohon juga) dari keturunanku". Allah berfirman: "Janji-Ku (ini) tidak mengenai orang yang zalim".

اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب خدانے چند کلمات کے ذریعے ابراہیم علیھ السّلام کا امتحان لیا اور انہوں نے پورا کردیا تو اس نے کہا کہ ہم تم کو لوگوں کا امام اور قائد بنا رہے ہیں. انہوں نے عرض کی کہ میری ذریت? ارشاد ہوا کہ یہ عہدئہ امامت ظالمین تک نہیں جائے گا

যখন ইব্রাহীমকে তাঁর পালনকর্তা কয়েকটি বিষয়ে পরীক্ষা করলেন, অতঃপর তিনি তা পূর্ণ করে দিলেন, তখন পালনকর্তা বললেন, আমি তোমাকে মানবজাতির নেতা করব। তিনি বললেন, আমার বংশধর থেকেও! তিনি বললেন আমার অঙ্গীকার অত্যাচারীদের পর্যন্ত পৌঁছাবে না।
