But never did their faith benefit them once they saw Our punishment. [It is] the established way of Allah which has preceded among His servants. And the disbelievers thereupon lost [all].

But their faith was of no benefit to them when they sighted Our punishment—Allah’s precedent, which has passed among His servants, and it is thence that the faithless will be losers.

But their faith could not avail them when they saw Our doom. This is Allah's law which hath ever taken course for His bondmen. And then the disbelievers will be ruined.

But their professing the Faith when they (actually) saw Our Punishment was not going to profit them. (Such has been) Allah's Way of dealing with His Servants (from the most ancient times). And even thus did the Rejecters of Allah perish (utterly)!

But their belief when they saw Our might did not profit them -- the wont of God, as in the past, touching His servants; then the unbelievers shall be lost.

ولی زمانی که عذاب سخت ما را دیدند، ایمانشان سودی به آنان نداد. سنت خداست که از دیرباز نسبت به بندگانش جاری شده است [که ایمانشان را پس از دیدن عذاب نمی پذیرد] و آنجاست که کافران زیانکار شدند.

و[لی‌] هنگامی که عذاب ما را مشاهده کردند، دیگر ایمانشان برای آنها سودی نداد. سنّت خداست که از [دیرباز] در باره بندگانش چنین جاری شده، و آنجاست که ناباوران زیان کرده‌اند.

Ama, Bizim şiddetli azabımızı görüp de öyle inanmaları kendilerine fayda vermedi. Bu, Allah'ın kulları hakkında, öteden beri yürürlükte olan yasasıdır. İşte inkarcılar o zaman hüsranda kaldılar.

Maka iman mereka tiada berguna bagi mereka tatkala mereka telah melihat siksa Kami. Itulah sunnah Allah yang telah berlaku terhadap hamba-hamba-Nya. Dan di waktu itu binasalah orang-orang kafir.

تو عذاب کے دیکھنے کے بعد کوئی ایمان کام آنے والا نہیں تھا کہ یہ اللہ کا مستقل طریقہ ہے جو اس کے بندوں کے بارے میں گِزر چکا اَہے اور اسی وقت کافر خسارہ میں مبتلا ہوجاتے ہیں

অতঃপর তাদের এ ঈমান তাদের কোন উপকারে আসল না যখন তারা শাস্তি প্রত্যক্ষ করল। আল্লাহর এ নিয়মই পূর্ব থেকে তাঁর বান্দাদের মধ্যে প্রচলিত হয়েছে। সেক্ষেত্রে কাফেররা ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হয়।
