مَا إِلَّا وَمَا إِذًا ﴿٨﴾

We do not send down the angels except with truth; and the disbelievers would not then be reprieved.

قرآن حکیم (شرح آیات منتخب)

تقاضای کافران برای نابودی خویش!

در تفسیر این آیه - که پاسخ به درخواست کافران است که در ید پیش آمده - آرای گوناگونی بیان شده است. یکی از آنها که درست‌تر به نظر می‌رسد.ء این است که سنت الهی بر این است که فرشتگان از حواس بشر پنهان باشند. اگر خداوند به خاطر درخواست کافران و از راه معجزه» فرشتگان را نازل و ظاهر کند حجت به طور کامل بر آنها تمام می‌شود و جای شک و شبهه‌ای باقی نمی‌ماند. انگاه اگر کافران ایمان نیاورندء نزول عذاب و هلاکت آنها قطعی است. چون این کافران در نهایت لجاجت و تکبر هستندء باز هم ایمان نمی‌آورند و در واقع این درخواست آنهاء درخواست نابودی خویش است. ‎.٩‏ مصونیت قرآن از تحریف: این یه یکی از دلایل تحریف نشدن قرآن است. از آیه به خوبی استفاده می‌شود که قرآن کریم به طور کلی از هر نوع تحریف و تغییر مصون مانده و این قرآن عیناً همان قرآنی است که بر پیامبر اکرم(ص) نازل شده است؛ زیرا خداوند به طور قطع می‌فرماید که از قرآن محافظت می‌فرماید. در آیات ۴۱ و ۴۲ سورةٌ فصلت نیز همین حقیقت بیان شده است؛ آنجا که می‌فرماید: «و این کتابی است قطعاً شکست‌ناپذیر که هیچ‌گونه باطلی نه از پیش رو و نه از پشت سر به سراغ آن نمی‌آید؛ چرا که از سوی خداوند حکیم و شایستةٌ ستایش نازل شده است.»؟
