وَقَدْ مِن وَإِنَّ لَذُو عَلَىٰ وَإِنَّ ﴿٦﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

They impatiently urge you to bring about evil before good, while there has already occurred before them similar punishments [to what they demand]. And indeed, your Lord is full of forgiveness for the people despite their wrongdoing, and indeed, your Lord is severe in penalty.

تقاضای عذاب خدا به جای رحمت

این تقاضای نامعقول به خاطر این بوده که پیامبراص) را - معاذالله - مسخره کنند. در واقع هنگامی که کافران تهدیدهای پیامبر را در بارةٌ عذاب الهی شنیدندء به خیال این‌که او را مسخره کرده باشندء تقاضای عذاب کردند. خداوند در این آّیه با تعجب بیان می‌کند که این چه تقاضایی است؛ در حالی که اولاً از بلاهای عبرت‌انگیزی که بر اقوام پیشین نازل شده» خبر دارند؛ ثانیاً خداوند نسبت به مردم دارای مغفرت است و بجاست که تقاضای عفو و رحمت کنند؛ نه عذاب.

  • إِن تُعَذِّبْهُمْ فَإِنَّهُمْ عِبَادُكَ وَإِن تَغْفِرْ لَهُمْ فَإِنَّكَ أَنتَ ٱلْعَزِيزُ ٱلْحَكِيمُ

    If You should punish them - indeed they are Your servants; but if You forgive them - indeed it is You who is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

    Then, indeed your Lord, to those who have done wrong out of ignorance and then repent after that and correct themselves - indeed, your Lord, thereafter, is Forgiving and Merciful.
