تهمتی بزرگ به پیامبر خدا

کلمة «مسخُر» از مادةٌ «سحر» و به معنای کسی است که جادو شده باشد. کافران معتقد بودند که ساحران گاه از طریق سحرء عقل و هوش افراد را از کار می‌اندازند. آنان این سخن را نه تنها به صالح(ع) گفتند. به گروهی دیگر از پیامبران نیز این تهمت را وارد کردند؛ حتی به پیامبر اسلام(ص)؛ چنان که در یه ۸ سورةة فرقان می‌خوانیم: «ستمگران گفتند شما تنها از مردی پیروی می‌کنید که بر اثر مسحور شدن, عقل خود را از دست داده است.» آنها عقل را در این می‌دیدند که انسان با محیط هم‌رنگ باشده نان را به نرخ روز بخورد و خود را با همة مفاسد تطبیق دهد. اگر مردی لهمی و انقلابی برای درهم ریختن عقاید و نظام فاسد قیام می‌ کرد طبق این منطق او را دیوانه و مجنون و مسحور می‌خواندند.
