So whoever Allah wants to guide - He expands his breast to [contain] Islam; and whoever He wants to misguide - He makes his breast tight and constricted as though he were climbing into the sky. Thus does Allah place defilement upon those who do not believe.

Whomever Allah desires to guide, He opens his breast to Islam, and whomever He desires to lead astray, He makes his breast narrow and straitened as if he were climbing to a height. Thus does Allah lay [spiritual] defilement on those who do not have faith.

And whomsoever it is Allah's will to guide, He expandeth his bosom unto the Surrender, and whomsoever it is His Will to send astray, He maketh his bosom close and narrow as if he were engaged in sheer ascent. Thus Allah layeth ignominy upon those who believe not.

Those whom Allah (in His plan) willeth to guide,- He openeth their breast to Islam; those whom He willeth to leave straying,- He maketh their breast close and constricted, as if they had to climb up to the skies: thus doth Allah (heap) the penalty on those who refuse to believe.

Whomsoever God desires to guide, He expands his breast to Islam; whomsoever He desires to lead astray, He makes his breast narrow, tight, as if he were climbing to heaven. So God lays abomination upon those who believe not.

پس کسی را که خدا بخواهد هدایت کند، سینه اش را برای [پذیرفتن] اسلام می گشاید؛ و کسی را که [به خاطر لجاجت و عنادش] بخواهد گمراه نماید، سینه اش را چنان تنگ می کند که گویی به زحمت در آسمان بالا می رود؛ خدا این گونه پلیدی را بر کسانی که ایمان نمی آورند، قرار می دهد.

پس کسی را که خدا بخواهد هدایت نماید، دلش را به پذیرش اسلام می‌گشاید؛ و هر که را بخواهد گمراه کند، دلش را سخت تنگ می‌گرداند؛ چنانکه گویی به زحمت در آسمان بالا می‌رود. این گونه، خدا پلیدی را بر کسانی که ایمان نمی‌آورند قرار می‌دهد.

Allah kimi doğru yola koymak isterse onun kalbini İslamiyet'e açar, kimi de saptırmak isterse, göğe yükseliyormuş gibi, kalbini dar ve sıkıntılı kılar. Allah böylece, inanmayanları küfür bataklığında bırakır.

Barangsiapa yang Allah menghendaki akan memberikan kepadanya petunjuk, niscaya Dia melapangkan dadanya untuk (memeluk agama) Islam. Dan barangsiapa yang dikehendaki Allah kesesatannya, niscaya Allah menjadikan dadanya sesak lagi sempit, seolah-olah ia sedang mendaki langit. Begitulah Allah menimpakan siksa kepada orang-orang yang tidak beriman.

پس خدا جسے ہدایت دینا چاہتا ہے اس کے سینے کو اسلام کے لئے کشادہ کردیتا ہے اور جس کو گمراہی میں چھوڑنا چاہتا ہے اس کے سینے کو ایسا تنگ اور دشوار گزار بنادیتا ہے جیسے آسمان کی طرف بلند ہورہا ہو ,وہ اسی طرح بے ایمانوں پر ان کی کثافت کو مسّلط کردیتاہے

অতঃপর আল্লাহ যাকে পথ-প্রদর্শন করতে চান, তার বক্ষকে ইসলামের জন্যে উম্মুক্ত করে দেন এবং যাকে বিপথগামী করতে চান, তার বক্ষকে সংকীর্ণ অত্যধিক সংকীর্ণ করে দেন-যেন সে সবেগে আকাশে আরোহণ করছে। এমনি ভাবে যারা বিশ্বাস স্থাপন করে না। আল্লাহ তাদের উপর আযাব বর্ষন করেন।
