Then We sent following their footsteps Our messengers and followed [them] with Jesus, the son of Mary, and gave him the Gospel. And We placed in the hearts of those who followed him compassion and mercy and monasticism, which they innovated; We did not prescribe it for them except [that they did so] seeking the approval of Allah. But they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave the ones who believed among them their reward, but many of them are defiantly disobedient.

Then We followed them up with Our apostles and We followed [them] with Jesus son of Mary, and We gave him the Evangel, and We put kindness and mercy into the hearts of those who followed him. But as for monasticism, they innovated it—We had not prescribed it for them—only seeking Allah’s pleasure. Yet they did not observe it with due observance. So We gave to the faithful among them their [due] reward, but many of them are transgressors.

Then We caused Our messengers to follow in their footsteps; and We caused Jesus, son of Mary, to follow, and gave him the Gospel, and placed compassion and mercy in the hearts of those who followed him. But monasticism they invented - We ordained it not for them - only seeking Allah's pleasure, and they observed it not with right observance. So We give those of them who believe their reward, but many of them are evil-livers.

Then, in their wake, We followed them up with (others of) Our messengers: We sent after them Jesus the son of Mary, and bestowed on him the Gospel; and We ordained in the hearts of those who followed him Compassion and Mercy. But the Monasticism which they invented for themselves, We did not prescribe for them: (We commanded) only the seeking for the Good Pleasure of Allah; but that they did not foster as they should have done. Yet We bestowed, on those among them who believed, their (due) reward, but many of them are rebellious transgressors.

Then We sent, following in their footsteps, Our Messengers; and We sent, following, Jesus son of Mary, and gave unto him the Gospel. And We set in the hearts of those who followed him tenderness and mercy. And monasticism they invented -- We did not prescribe it for them -- only seeking the good pleasure of God; but they observed it not as it should be observed. So We gave those of them who believed their wage; and many of them are ungodly.

سپس به دنبال آنان پیامبران خود را پی در پی آوردیم و پس از آنان عیسی پسر مریم را [به رسالت] فرستادیم و به او انجیل عطا کردیم و در قلب کسانی که از او پیروی می کردند رأفت و رحمت قرار دادیم، و رهبانیتی که از نزد خود ساخته بودند ما بر آنان مقرّر نکرده بودیم، ولی [خود آنان آن را] برای طلب خشنودی خدا [بر خود واجب کرده بودند]، اما آنگونه که باید حدود خودساخته را رعایت نکردند؛ پس پاداش کسانی از آنان را که ایمان آورده اند، عطا کردیم و بسیاری از آنان نافرمانند.

آنگاه به دنبال آنان پیامبران خود را، پی‌درپی، آوردیم، و عیسی پسر مریم را در پی [آنان‌] آوردیم و به او انجیل عطا کردیم، و در دلهای کسانی که از او پیروی کردند رأفت و رحمت نهادیم و [اما] ترک دنیایی که از پیش خود درآوردند ما آن را بر ایشان مقرّر نکردیم مگر برای آنکه کسب خشنودی خدا کنند، با این حال آن را چنانکه حقّ رعایت آن بود منظور نداشتند. پس پاداش کسانی از ایشان را که ایمان آورده بودند بدانها دادیم و[لی‌] بسیاری از آنان دستخوش انحرافند.

Onların izleri üzerinden peygamberlerimizi ard arda gönderdik; Meryem oğlu İsa'yı da ardlarından gönderdik ve ona İncil'i verdik; ona uyanların gönüllerine şefkat ve merhamet duyguları koyduk; üzerlerine bizim gerekli kılmadığımız fakat kendilerinin güya Allah'ın rızasını kazanmak için ortaya attıkları ruhbaniyete bile gereği gibi riayet etmediler; içlerinde inanmış olan kimselere ecirlerini verdik; ama çoğu yoldan çıkmışlardır.

Kemudian Kami iringi di belakang mereka dengan rasul-rasul Kami dan Kami iringi (pula) dengan Isa putra Maryam; dan Kami berikan kepadanya Injil dan Kami jadikan dalam hati orang-orang yang mengikutinya rasa santun dan kasih sayang. Dan mereka mengada-adakan rahbaniyyah padahal kami tidak mewajibkannya kepada mereka tetapi (mereka sendirilah yang mengada-adakannya) untuk mencari keridhaan Allah, lalu mereka tidak memeliharanya dengan pemeliharaan yang semestinya. Maka Kami berikan kepada orang-orang yang beriman di antara mereka pahalanya dan banyak di antara mereka orang-orang fasik.

پھر ہم نے ان ہی کے نقش قدم پر دوسرے رسول بھیجے اور ان کے پیچھے عیسٰی علیھ السّلام بن مریم علیھ السّلام کو بھیجا اور انہیں انجیل عطا کردی اور ان کا اتباع کرنے والوں کے دلوں میں مہربانی اور محبت قرار دے دی اور جس رہبانیت کو ان لوگوں نے ازخود ایجاد کرلیا تھا اور اس سے رضائے خدا کے طلبگار تھے اسے ہم نے ان کے اوپر فرض نہیں قرار دیا تھا اور انہوں نے خود بھی اس کی مکمل پاسداری نہیں کی تو ہم نے ان میں سے واقعا ایمان لانے والوں کو اجر عطا کردیا اور ان میں سے بہت سے تو بالکل فاسق اور بدکردار تھے

অতঃপর আমি তাদের পশ্চাতে প্রেরণ করেছি আমার রসূলগণকে এবং তাদের অনুগামী করেছি মরিয়ম তনয় ঈসাকে ও তাকে দিয়েছি ইঞ্জিল। আমি তার অনুসারীদের অন্তরে স্থাপন করেছি নম্রতা ও দয়া। আর বৈরাগ্য, সে তো তারা নিজেরাই উদ্ভাবন করেছে; আমি এটা তাদের উপর ফরজ করিনি; কিন্তু তারা আল্লাহর সন্তুষ্টি লাভের জন্যে এটা অবলম্বন করেছে। অতঃপর তারা যথাযথভাবে তা পালন করেনি। তাদের মধ্যে যারা বিশ্বাসী ছিল, আমি তাদেরকে তাদের প্রাপ্য পুরস্কার দিয়েছি। আর তাদের অধিকাংশই পাপাচারী।
