Ẓāhir (apparent)
"God, the Eternally Besought (al-Ṣamad)" — the One upon whom all depend while He depends on none.
Bāṭin / reported
Imam-narrations gloss al-Ṣamad apophatically — no jawf (interior), neither eats nor sleeps, endures when creation perishes — i.e. anti-corporeal tanzīh, not bodily description.
Theology
Read under tanzīh; converges with 42:11.
