مَا هِىَ إِلَّا وَمَا إِلَّا وَمَا لَهُم بِذَٰلِكَ مِنْ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا ﴿٢٤﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

And they say, "There is not but our worldly life; we die and live, and nothing destroys us except time." And they have of that no knowledge; they are only assuming.

در این آّیه» بحث دیگری در بارةٌ منکران توحید به میان آمده؛ منتها در اینجا تنما از گروه خاصی از آنها یعنی دهریان نام برده شد که وجود صانع در عالم هستی را به طور مطلق انکار می‌کردند؛ در حالی که اکثر مشرکان در ظاهر به خدا ایمان داشتند و بت‌ها را شفیعان درگاه او می‌دانستند. این اعتقاد که فاعل حوادث عالمء دهر (روزگار) است یا - به تعبیر جمعی دیگر - گردش افلاک و اوضاع کواکب استء عقیدةٌ جمعی از مادیین در اعصار گذشته بود که سلسلةٌ حوادث را به افلاک منتهی می‌کردند و معتقد بودند که هر چه در جهان ما رخ می‌دهد. به سبب آنهاست. این اعتقادات خرافی با گذشت زمان به تدریج از میان رفت؛ به ویژه با پیشرفت علم هیأت ثابت شد که چیزی به نام افلاک (کرات تودرتوی پوست پیازی بلورین) وجود خارجی ندارد و ستارگان عالم بالا نیز کم و بیش ساختمانی مانند کرةٌ زمین دارند؛ منتهی بعضی خاموش‌اند و از کرات دیگر نور می‌گیرند و بعضی در حال اشتعال و نورافشانی هستند و دهریان گاه در حوادث تلخ و ناگوار به دهر بدگویی می‌کردند و آن را دشنام می‌دادند. عجب این که بقایای آن در ادبیات امروز نیز دیده می‌شود که بعضی از شاعران خداپرست به دهر غذار و چرخ کج‌مدار بد می‌گویند و بر روزگار نفرین می‌فرستند که چرا چنین و چنان کرده است. در مقابل این تفکر غلط در روایتی از پیامبر(ص) نقل شده است: «به روزگار دشنام ندهید؛ چرا که خداوند روزگار است.»؛ اشاره به این که روزگارء لفظی بیش نیست. کسی که مدبر این جهان و گردانندةٌ این عالم استء» خداست. اگر به مدیر و گردانندةٌ این جهان بدگویی کنیدء بدون توجه. به خداوند قادر متعال بدگویی کرده‌اید. اگر می‌بینیم در بعضی از جملات بزرگان و حتی امامان» از دهر و روزگار شکایت شده, منظور مردم روزگار است و نه افلاک و نظام هستی.
