O you who have believed, do not take My enemies and your enemies as allies, extending to them affection while they have disbelieved in what came to you of the truth, having driven out the Prophet and yourselves [only] because you believe in Allah, your Lord. If you have come out for jihad in My cause and seeking means to My approval, [take them not as friends]. You confide to them affection, but I am most knowing of what you have concealed and what you have declared. And whoever does it among you has certainly strayed from the soundness of the way.

O you who have faith! Do not take My enemy and your enemy for friends, [secretly] offering them affection, if you have set out for jihad in My way and to seek My pleasure, for they have certainly denied whatever has come to you of the truth, expelling the Apostle and you, because you have faith in Allah, your Lord. You secretly nourish affection for them, while I know well whatever you hide and whatever you disclose, and whoever among you does that has certainly strayed from the right way.

O ye who believe! Choose not My enemy and your enemy for allies. Do ye give them friendship when they disbelieve in that truth which hath come unto you, driving out the messenger and you because ye believe in Allah, your Lord? If ye have come forth to strive in My way and seeking My good pleasure, (show them not friendship). Do ye show friendship unto them in secret, when I am Best Aware of what ye hide and what ye proclaim? And whosoever doeth it among you, he verily hath strayed from the right way.

O ye who believe! Take not my enemies and yours as friends (or protectors),- offering them (your) love, even though they have rejected the Truth that has come to you, and have (on the contrary) driven out the Prophet and yourselves (from your homes), (simply) because ye believe in Allah your Lord! If ye have come out to strive in My Way and to seek My Good Pleasure, (take them not as friends), holding secret converse of love (and friendship) with them: for I know full well all that ye conceal and all that ye reveal. And any of you that does this has strayed from the Straight Path.

O believers, take not My enemy and your enemy for friends, offering them love, though they have disbelieved in the truth that has come to you, expelling the Messenger and you because you believe in God your Lord. If you go forth to struggle in My way and seek My good pleasure, secretly loving them, yet I know very well what you conceal and what you publish; and whosoever of you does that, has gone astray from the right way.

ای اهل ایمان! دشمنان من و دشمنان خودتان را دوستان خود مگیرید، شما با آنان اظهار دوستی می کنید، در حالی که آنان به طور یقین به آنچه از حق برای شما آمده کافرند، و پیامبر و شما را به خاطر ایمانتان به خدا که پروردگار شماست [از وطن] بیرون می کنند، [پس آنان را دوستان خود مگیرید] اگر برای جهاد در راه من و طلب خشنودیم بیرون آمده اید [چرا] مخفیانه به آنان پیام می دهید که دوستشان دارید؟ در حالی که من به آنچه پنهان می داشتید و آنچه آشکار کردید داناترم، و هر کس از شما با دشمنان من رابطه دوستی برقرار کند، مسلماً از راه راست منحرف شده است.

ای کسانی که ایمان آورده‌اید، دشمن من و دشمن خودتان را به دوستی برمگیرید [به طوری‌] که با آنها اظهار دوستی کنید، و حال آنکه قطعاً به آن حقیقت که برای شما آمده کافرند [و] پیامبر [خدا] و شما را [از مکه‌] بیرون می‌کنند که [چرا ]به خدا، پروردگارتان ایمان آورده‌اید، اگر برای جهاد در راه من و طلب خشنودی من بیرون آمده‌اید. [شما] پنهانی با آنان رابطه دوستی برقرار می‌کنید در حالی که من به آنچه پنهان داشتید و آنچه آشکار نمودید داناترم. و هر کس از شما چنین کند، قطعاً از راه درست منحرف گردیده است.

Ey inananlar! Benim de düşmanım, sizin de düşmanınız olanları dost edinmeyin. Onlar, size gelen gerçeği inkar etmişken, onlara sevgi gösteriyorsunuz; oysa onlar, Rabbiniz olan Allah'a inandığınızdan ötürü sizi ve Peygamberi yurdunuzdan çıkarıyorlar. Eğer sizler Benim yolumda savaşmak ve rızamı kazanmak için çıkmışsanız onlara nasıl sevgi gösterirsiniz? Ben, sizin gizlediğinizi de, açığa vurduğunuzu da bilirim. İçinizden onlara sevgi gösteren kimse, şüphesiz doğru yoldan sapmıştır.

Hai orang-orang yang beriman, janganlah kamu mengambil musuh-Ku dan musuhmu menjadi teman-teman setia yang kamu sampaikan kepada mereka (berita-berita Muhammad), karena rasa kasih sayang; padahal sesungguhnya mereka telah ingkar kepada kebenaran yang datang kepadamu, mereka mengusir Rasul dan (mengusir) kamu karena kamu beriman kepada Allah, Tuhanmu. Jika kamu benar-benar keluar untuk berjihad di jalan-Ku dan mencari keridhaan-Ku (janganlah kamu berbuat demikian). Kamu memberitahukan secara rahasia (berita-berita Muhammad) kepada mereka, karena rasa kasih sayang. Aku lebih mengetahui apa yang kamu sembunyikan dan apa yang kamu nyatakan. Dan barangsiapa di antara kamu yang melakukannya, maka sesungguhnya dia telah tersesat dari jalan yang lurus.

ایمان والو خبردار میرے اور اپنے دشمنوں کو دوست مت بنانا کہ تم ان کی طرف دوستی کی پیش کش کرو جب کہ انہوں نے اس حق کا انکار کردیا ہے جو تمہارے پاس آچکا ہے اور وہ رسول کو اور تم کو صرف اس بات پر نکال رہے ہیں کہ تم اپنے پروردگار (اللرُ) پر ایمان رکھتے ہو .... اگر تم واقعا ہماری راہ میں جہاد اور ہماری مرضی کی تلاش میں گھر سے نکلے ہو تو ان سے خفیہ دوستی کس طرح کررہے ہو جب کہ میں تمہارے ظاہر و باطن سب کو جانتا ہوں اور جو بھی تم میں سے ایسا اقدام کرے گا وہ یقینا سیدھے راستہ سے بہک گیا ہے

মুমিনগণ, তোমরা আমার ও তোমাদের শত্রুদেরকে বন্ধরূপে গ্রহণ করো না। তোমরা তো তাদের প্রতি বন্ধুত্বের বার্তা পাঠাও, অথচ তারা যে সত্য তোমাদের কাছে আগমন করেছে, তা অস্বীকার করছে। তারা রসূলকে ও তোমাদেরকে বহিস্কার করে এই অপরাধে যে, তোমরা তোমাদের পালনকর্তার প্রতি বিশ্বাস রাখ। যদি তোমরা আমার সন্তুষ্টিলাভের জন্যে এবং আমার পথে জেহাদ করার জন্যে বের হয়ে থাক, তবে কেন তাদের প্রতি গোপনে বন্ধুত্বের পয়গাম প্রেরণ করছ? তোমরা যা গোপন কর এবং যা প্রকাশ কর, ত আমি খুব জানি। তোমাদের মধ্যে যে এটা করে, সে সরলপথ থেকে বিচ্যুত হয়ে যায়।
