And [mention, O Muhammad], when Allah took a covenant from those who were given the Scripture, [saying], "You must make it clear to the people and not conceal it." But they threw it away behind their backs and exchanged it for a small price. And wretched is that which they purchased.

When Allah made a covenant with those who were given the Book: ‘You shall explain it for the people, and you shall not conceal it,’ they cast it behind their backs and sold it for a paltry gain. How evil is what they buy!

And (remember) when Allah laid a charge on those who had received the Scripture (He said): Ye are to expound it to mankind and not to hide it. But they flung it behind their backs and bought thereby a little gain. Verily evil is that which they have gained thereby.

And remember Allah took a covenant from the People of the Book, to make it known and clear to mankind, and not to hide it; but they threw it away behind their backs, and purchased with it some miserable gain! And vile was the bargain they made!

And when God took compact with those who had been given the Book: 'You shall make it clear unto the people, and not conceal it.' But they rejected it behind their backs and sold it for a small price -- how evil was that their selling!

و [یاد کنید] هنگامی که خدا از کسانی که به آنان کتاب آسمانی داده شد، پیمان گرفت که حتماً باید [احکام و حقایق] آن را برای مردم بیان کنید و پنهانش ننمایید. پس آن [عهد و کتاب] را ترک کردند و به آن اعتنایی ننمودند، و در برابر ترک آن اندک بهایی به دست آوردند؛ و بد چیزی است آنچه به دست می آورند.

و [یاد کن‌] هنگامی را که خداوند از کسانی که به آنان کتاب داده شده، پیمان گرفت که حتماً باید آن را [به وضوح‌] برای مردم بیان نمایید و کتمانش مکنید. پس، آن [عهد] را پشت سر خود انداختند و در برابر آن، بهایی ناچیز به دست آوردند، و چه بد معامله‌ای کردند.

Allah, Kitap verilenlerden, onu insanlara açıklayacaksınız ve gizlemeyeceksiniz, diye ahid almıştı. Onlar ise, onu arkalarına atıp az bir değere değiştiler. Alış verişleri ne kötüdür!

Dan (ingatlah), ketika Allah mengambil janji dari orang-orang yang telah diberi kitab (yaitu): "Hendaklah kamu menerangkan isi kitab itu kepada manusia, dan jangan kamu menyembunyikannya," lalu mereka melemparkan janji itu ke belakang punggung mereka dan mereka menukarnya dengan harga yang sedikit. Amatlah buruknya tukaran yang mereka terima.

اس موقع کو یاد کرو جب خدا نے جن کو کتاب دی ان سے عہد لیا کہ اسے لوگوں کے لئے بیان کریں گے اور اسے حُھپائیں گے نہیں.. لیکن انہوں نے اس عہد کو پبُ پشت ڈال دیا اور تھوڑی قیمت پر بیچ دیا تو یہ بہت اِرا سودا کیا ہے

আর আল্লাহ যখন আহলে কিতাবদের কাছ থেকে প্রতিজ্ঞা গ্রহণ করলেন যে, তা মানুষের নিকট বর্ণনা করবে এবং গোপন করবে না, তখন তারা সে প্রতিজ্ঞাকে নিজেদের পেছনে ফেলে রাখল আর তার কেনা-বেচা করল সামান্য মূল্যের বিনিময়ে। সুতরাং কতই না মন্দ তাদের এ বেচা-কেনা।
