وَمَنْ مِّمَّنْ وَهُوَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ إِبْرَٰهِيمَ ﴿١٢٥﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

And who is better in religion than one who submits himself to Allah while being a doer of good and follows the religion of Abraham, inclining toward truth? And Allah took Abraham as an intimate friend.

ابراهیم خلیل

«خلیل» از ماه «خلّت» به معنای حاجت است. خلیل» کسی است که حوایج و نیازهای خود را فقط به خدا می گوید و رفع نیازهایش را از او می‌خواهد. در روایتی از امام رضا(ع) آمده است: «اگر خداوند ابراهیم(ع) را خلیل خود گرفت. برای این بود که درخواست هیچ درخواست کننده‌ای را رد نمی‌کرد و از هیچ کس جز خدا چیزی نمی‌خواست.» البته برخی از مفسران بر آن‌اند که خلیل از ماه است. خود انتخاب کرد». اما این که ابراهیم(ع) چه امتیازاتی داشت که خداوند این مقام را به او بخشیدء علل گوناگونی در روایات برای آن ذکر شده است. از بعضی روایات استفاده می‌شود که این مقام بر اثر کثذرت سجود و اطعام گرسنگان و نماز در دل شب یا کوشا بودن او در راه اطاعت پروردگار بدو عطا شده
