And when there comes to them information about [public] security or fear, they spread it around. But if they had referred it back to the Messenger or to those of authority among them, then the ones who [can] draw correct conclusions from it would have known about it. And if not for the favor of Allah upon you and His mercy, you would have followed Satan, except for a few.

When a report of safety or alarm comes to them, they immediately broadcast it; but had they referred it to the Apostle or to those vested with authority among them, those of them who investigate would have ascertained it. And were it not for Allah’s grace upon you and His mercy, you would have surely followed Satan, [all] except a few.

And if any tidings, whether of safety or fear, come unto them, they noise it abroad, whereas if they had referred it to the messenger and to such of them as are in authority, those among them who are able to think out the matter would have known it. If it had not been for the grace of Allah upon you and His mercy ye would have followed Satan, save a few (of you).

When there comes to them some matter touching (Public) safety or fear, they divulge it. If they had only referred it to the Messenger, or to those charged with authority among them, the proper investigators would have Tested it from them (direct). Were it not for the Grace and Mercy of Allah unto you, all but a few of you would have fallen into the clutches of Satan.

When there comes to them a matter, be it of security or fear, they broadcast it; if they had referred it to the Messenger and to those in authority among them, those of them whose task it is to investigate would have known the matter. And but for the bounty of God to you, and His mercy, you would surely have followed Satan, except a few.

و هنگامی که خبری از ایمنی و ترس [چون پیروزی و شکست] به آنان [که مردمی سست ایمان اند] رسد، [بدون بررسی در درستی و نادرستی اش] آن را منتشر می کنند، و [در صورتی که] اگر آن خبر را به پیامبر و اولیای امورشان [که به سبب بینش و بصیرتْ دارای قدرت تشخیص و اهل تحقیق اند] ارجاع می دادند، درستی و نادرستی اش را در می یافتند؛ [چنانچه به مصلحت جامعه بود، انتشارش را اجازه می دادند و اگر نبود، از انتشارش منع می کردند] و اگر فضل و رحمت خدا بر شما نبود، یقیناً همه شما جز اندکی، از شیطان پیروی می کردید.

و چون خبری [حاکی‌] از ایمنی یا وحشت به آنان برسد، انتشارش دهند؛ و اگر آن را به پیامبر و اولیای امر خود ارجاع کنند، قطعاً از میان آنان کسانی‌اند که [می‌توانند درست و نادرست‌] آن را دریابند، و اگر فضل خدا و رحمت او بر شما نبود، مسلماً جز [شمار] اندکی، از شیطان پیروی می‌کردید.

Kendilerine güven veya korku hususunda bir haber geldiğinde onu yayarlar; halbuki o haberi Peygamber'e veya kendilerinden buyruk sahibi olanlara götürselerdi, onlardan sonuç çıkarmaya kadir olanlar onu bilirdi. Allah'ın size bol nimeti ve rahmeti olmasaydı, pek azınız bir yana, şeytana uyardınız.

Dan apabila datang kepada mereka suatu berita tentang keamanan ataupun ketakutan, mereka lalu menyiarkannya. Dan kalau mereka menyerahkannya kepada Rasul dan Ulil Amri di antara mereka, tentulah orang-orang yang ingin mengetahui kebenarannya (akan dapat) mengetahuinya dari mereka (Rasul dan Ulil Amri). Kalau tidaklah karena karunia dan rahmat Allah kepada kamu, tentulah kamu mengikut syaitan, kecuali sebahagian kecil saja (di antaramu).

اور جب ان کے پاس امن یا خوف کی خبر آتی ہے تو فورا نشر کردیتے ہیں حالانکہ اگر رسول اور صاحبانِ امر کی طرف پلٹا دیتے تو ان سے استفادہ کرنے والے حقیقت حال کا علم پیدا کرلیتے اور اگر تم لوگوں پر خدا کا فضل اور ا سکی رحمت نہ ہوتی تو چند افراد کے علاوہ سب شیطان کا اتباع کرلیتے

আর যখন তাদের কছে পৌঁছে কোন সংবাদ শান্তি-সংক্রান্ত কিংবা ভয়ের, তখন তারা সেগুলোকে রটিয়ে দেয়। আর যদি সেগুলো পৌঁছে দিত রসূল পর্যন্ত কিংবা তাদের শাসকদের পর্যন্ত, তখন অনুসন্ধান করে দেখা যেত সেসব বিষয়, যা তাতে রয়েছে অনুসন্ধান করার মত। বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহর অনুগ্রহ ও করুণা যদি তোমাদের উপর বিদ্যমান না থাকত তবে তোমাদের অল্প কতিপয় লোক ব্যতীত সবাই শয়তানের অনুসরণ করতে শুরু করত!
