Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allah does not guide the wrongdoing people.

Is he who founds his building on Godwariness and [the pursuit of Allah’s] pleasure better-off or he who founds his building on the brink of a collapsing bank which collapses with him into the fire of hell? Allah does not guide the wrongdoing lot.

Is he who founded his building upon duty to Allah and His good pleasure better; or he who founded his building on the brink of a crumbling, overhanging precipice so that it toppled with him into the fire of hell? Allah guideth not wrongdoing folk.

Which then is best? - he that layeth his foundation on piety to Allah and His good pleasure? - or he that layeth his foundation on an undermined sand-cliff ready to crumble to pieces? and it doth crumble to pieces with him, into the fire of Hell. And Allah guideth not people that do wrong.

Why, is he better who founded his building upon the fear of God and His good pleasure, or he who founded his building upon the brink of a crumbling bank that has tumbled with him into the fire of Gehenna? And God guides not the people of the evildoers.

آیا کسی که بنیاد [امورش] را بر پایه تقوای الهی و رضای او نهاده بهتر است یا کسی که بنیاد [امورش] را بر لب پرتگاهی سست و فروریختنی نهاده؟! و آن بنا با بناکننده اش در جهنم سقوط می کند؛ و خدا گروه ستمکاران را هدایت نمی کند.

آیا کسی که بنیاد [کار] خود را بر پایه تقوا و خشنودی خدا نهاده بهتر است یا کسی که بنای خود را بر لب پرتگاهی مُشرف به سقوط پی‌ریزی کرده و با آن در آتش دوزخ فرو می‌افتد؟ و خدا گروه بیدادگران را هدایت نمی‌کند.

Yapısını, Allah'tan sakınmak ve Onun hoşnudluğuna ermek için yapan kimse mi daha hayırlıdır; yoksa, yapısını kayacak bir yar kıyısına yapıp da onunla beraber cehennem ateşine yuvarlanan kimse mi? Allah, zulmeden kimselere doğru yolu göstermez.

Maka apakah orang-orang yang mendirikan mesjidnya di atas dasar takwa kepada Allah dan keridhaan-(Nya) itu yang baik, ataukah orang-orang yang mendirikan bangunannya di tepi jurang yang runtuh, lalu bangunannya itu jatuh bersama-sama dengan dia ke dalam neraka Jahannam. Dan Allah tidak memberikan petunjuk kepada orang-orang yang zalim.

کیا جس نے اپنی بنیاد خوف خدا اور رضائے الٰہی پر رکھی ہے وہ بہتر ہے یا جس نے اپنی بنیاد اس گرتے ہوئے کگارے کے کنارے پر رکھی ہو کہ وہ ساری عمارت کو لے کر جہّنم میں گر جائے اوراللہ ظالم قوم کی ہدایت نہیں کرتا ہے

যে ব্যাক্তি স্বীয় গৃহের ভিত্তি রেখেছে কোন গর্তের কিনারায় যা ধ্বসে পড়ার নিকটবর্তী এবং অতঃপর তা ওকে নিয়ে দোযখের আগুনে পতিত হয়। আর আল্লাহ জালেমদের পথ দেখান না।
