فِى إِسْمَٰعِيلَ إِنَّهُۥ ﴿٥٤﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

And mention in the Book, Ishmael. Indeed, he was true to his promise, and he was a messenger and a prophet.

قرآن حکیم (شرح آیات منتخب)

اسماعیل صادق‌ الوعد

طبق روایاتی که از اهل بیت(ع) نقل شده» منظور از اسماعیل در این یه فرزند حضرت ابراهیم(ع) نیست؛ بلکه یکی از پیامبران خدا به نام «اسماعیل بن حزقیل» است. در روایتی از امام رضا(ع) در خطاب به یکی از اصحاب می‌خوانیم: «آیا می‌دانی چرا اسماعیل صادق‌الوعد نامیده شده است؟» راوی عرض کرد: نمی‌دانم. حضرت فرمود: «با مردی وعده کرده بود. در موعد در آنجا حاضر شد (آن شخص بر سر قرار نیامد)؛ اما اسماعیل تا یک‌سال به انتظار آن شخص ماند.» بدیهی است که منظور این نیست که اسماعیل کار و زندگی‌اش را تعطیل کرد؛ بلکه در عین ادامة برنامه‌هایش» مراقب آمدن شخص مزبور نیز بود.
