They said, "O our father, indeed we went racing each other and left Joseph with our possessions, and a wolf ate him. But you would not believe us, even if we were truthful."

They said, ‘Father! We had gone racing and left Joseph with our things, whereat the wolf ate him. But you will not believe us even if we spoke truly.’

Saying: O our father! We went racing one with another, and left Joseph by our things, and the wolf devoured him, and thou believest not our saying even when we speak the truth.

They said: "O our father! We went racing with one another, and left Joseph with our things; and the wolf devoured him.... But thou wilt never believe us even though we tell the truth."

They said, 'Father, we went running races, and left Joseph behind with our things; so the wolf ate him. But thou wouldst never believe us, though we spoke truly.'

گفتند: ای پدر! ما یوسف را در کنار بار و کالای خود نهادیم و برای مسابقه رفتیم؛ پس گرگ، او را خورد و تو ما را تصدیق نخواهی کرد اگرچه راست بگوییم!

گفتند: «ای پدر، ما رفتیم مسابقه دهیم، و یوسف را پیش کالای خود نهادیم. آنگاه گرگ او را خورد، ولی تو ما را هر چند راستگو باشیم باور نمی‌داری.»

Akşam üstü ağlayarak babalarına geldiklerinde: "Ey babamız! İnan olsun biz yarış yapıyorduk; Yusuf'u eşyamızın yanına bırakmıştık; bir kurt onu yedi. Her ne kadar doğru söylüyorsak da sen bize inanmazsın" dediler.

Mereka berkata: "Wahai ayah kami, sesungguhnya kami pergi berlomba-lomba dan kami tinggalkan Yusuf di dekat barang-barang kami, lalu dia dimakan serigala; dan kamu sekali-kali tidak akan percaya kepada kami, sekalipun kami adalah orang-orang yang benar".

کہنے لگے بابا ہم دوڑ لگانے چلے گئے اور یوسف کو اپنے سامان کے پاس چھوڑ دیا تو ایک بھیڑیا آکر انہیں کھاگیا اور آپ ہماری بات کا یقین نہ کریں گے چاہے ہم کتنے ہی سچے کیوں نہ ہوں

তারা বললঃ পিতাঃ আমরা দৌড় প্রতিযোগিতা করতে গিয়েছিলাম এবং ইউসুফকে আসবাব-পত্রের কাছে রেখে গিয়েছিলাম। অতঃপর তাকে বাঘে খেয়ে ফেলেছে। আপনি তো আমাদেরকে বিশ্বাস করবেন না, যদিও আমরা সত্যবাদী।
