If a wound should touch you - there has already touched the [opposing] people a wound similar to it. And these days [of varying conditions] We alternate among the people so that Allah may make evident those who believe and [may] take to Himself from among you martyrs - and Allah does not like the wrongdoers -

If wounds afflict you, like wounds have already afflicted those people; and We make such vicissitudes rotate among mankind, so that Allah may ascertain those who have faith, and that He may take martyrs from among you, and Allah does not like the wrongdoers.

If ye have received a blow, the (disbelieving) people have received a blow the like thereof. These are (only) the vicissitudes which We cause to follow one another for mankind, to the end that Allah may know those who believe and may choose witnesses from among you; and Allah loveth not wrong-doers.

If a wound hath touched you, be sure a similar wound hath touched the others. Such days (of varying fortunes) We give to men and men by turns: that Allah may know those that believe, and that He may take to Himself from your ranks Martyr-witnesses (to Truth). And Allah loveth not those that do wrong.

If a wound touches you, a like wound already has touched the heathen; such days We deal out in turn among men, and that God may know who are the believers, and that He may take witnesses from among you; and God loves not the evildoers;

اگر [در جنگ احد] به شما آسیب و جراحتی رسید، آن گروه را نیز [در جنگ بدر] آسیب و جراحتی مانند آن رسید. و ما این روزها [یِ پیروزی و ناکامی] را [به عنوان امتحان] در میان مردم می گردانیم [تا عبرت گیرند] و خدا کسانی را که [از روی حقیقت و خلوص] ایمان آورده اند، مشخص کند و از میان شما گواهانی [نسبت به پیروزی ها که نتیجه طاعت و تقواست، و شکست ها که محصول نافرمانی و بی تقوایی است] بگیرد؛ و خدا ستمکاران را [که با سستی و بی تقوایی بر خود ستم می کنند] دوست ندارد.

اگر به شما آسیبی رسیده، آن قوم را نیز آسیبی نظیر آن رسید؛ و ما این روزها[ی شکست و پیروزی‌] را میان مردم به نوبت می‌گردانیم [تا آنان پند گیرند] و خداوند کسانی را که [واقعاً] ایمان آورده‌اند معلوم بدارد، و از میان شما گواهانی بگیرد، و خداوند ستمکاران را دوست نمی‌دارد.

Eğer siz (Uhud'da) bir yara almışsanız, (size düşman olan) o topluluk da (Bedir'de) benzeri bir yara almıştı. Böylece biz, Allah'ın gerçek müminleri ortaya çıkarması ve içinizden şahitler edinmesi için, bu günleri bazen lehe, bazen de aleyhe döndürüp duruyoruz. Allah, zulmedenleri sevmez.

Jika kamu (pada perang Uhud) mendapat luka, maka sesungguhnya kaum (kafir) itupun (pada perang Badar) mendapat luka yang serupa. Dan masa (kejayaan dan kehancuran) itu Kami pergilirkan diantara manusia (agar mereka mendapat pelajaran); dan supaya Allah membedakan orang-orang yang beriman (dengan orang-orang kafir) supaya sebagian kamu dijadikan-Nya (gugur sebagai) syuhada'. Dan Allah tidak menyukai orang-orang yang zalim,

اگر تمہیں کوئی تکلیف چھولیتی ہے تو قوم کو بھی اس سے پہلے ایسی ہی تکلیف ہوچکی ہے اور ہم تو زمانے کو لوگوں کے درمیان الٹتے پلٹتے رہتے ہیں تاکہ خدا صاحبانِ ایمان کو دیکھ لے اور تم میں سے بعض کو شہدائ قرار دے اور وہ ظالمین کو دوست نہیں رکھتا ہے

তোমরা যদি আহত হয়ে থাক, তবে তারাও তো তেমনি আহত হয়েছে। আর এ দিনগুলোকে আমি মানুষের মধ্যে পালাক্রমে আবর্তন ঘটিয়ে থাকি। এভাবে আল্লাহ জানতে চান কারা ঈমানদার আর তিনি তোমাদের কিছু লোককে শহীদ হিসাবে গ্রহণ করতে চান। আর আল্লাহ অত্যাচারীদেরকে ভালবাসেন না।
