Or lest you say, "If only the Scripture had been revealed to us, we would have been better guided than they." So there has [now] come to you a clear evidence from your Lord and a guidance and mercy. Then who is more unjust than one who denies the verses of Allah and turns away from them? We will recompense those who turn away from Our verses with the worst of punishment for their having turned away.

or [lest] you should say, ‘If the Book had been sent down to us, surely we would have been better-guided than them.’ There has already come to you a manifest proof from your Lord and a guidance and mercy. So who is a greater wrongdoer than him who denies the signs of Allah, and turns away from them? Soon We shall requite those who turn away from Our signs with a terrible punishment because of what they used to evade.

Or lest ye should say: If the Scripture had been revealed unto us, we surely had been better guided than are they. Now hath there come unto you a clear proof from your Lord, a guidance and mercy; and who doeth greater wrong than he who denieth the revelations of Allah, and turneth away from them? We award unto those who turn away from Our revelations an evil doom because of their aversion.

Or lest ye should say: "If the Book had only been sent down to us, we should have followed its guidance better than they." Now then hath come unto you a clear (sign) from your Lord,- and a guide and a mercy: then who could do more wrong than one who rejecteth Allah's signs, and turneth away therefrom? In good time shall We requite those who turn away from Our signs, with a dreadful penalty, for their turning away.

or lest you say, 'If the Book had been sent down upon us, we had surely been more rightly guided than they.' Yet indeed a clear sign has come to you from your Lord, and a guidance and a mercy; and who does greater evil than he who cries lies to God's signs, and turns away from them? We shall surely recompense those who turn away from Our signs with an evil chastisement for their turning away.

یا نگویید: اگر کتاب آسمانی بر ما نازل می شد، مسلماً از آنان راه یافته تر بودیم، اینک برهانی آشکار و هدایت و رحمتی از سوی پروردگارتان برای شما آمد، پس ستمکارتر از کسی که آیات خدا را تکذیب کند و از آن ها روی بگرداند کیست؟ به زودی کسانی [را] که از آیات ما روی می گردانند، به خاطرِ روی گرداندنشان به عذابی سخت مجازات خواهیم کرد.

یا نگویید: «اگر کتاب بر ما نازل می‌شد، قطعاً از آنان هدایت‌یافته‌تر بودیم.» اینک حجّتی از جانب پروردگارتان برای شما آمده و رهنمود و رحمتی است. پس کیست ستمکارتر از آن کس که آیات خدا را دروغ پندارد و از آنها روی گرداند؟ به زودی کسانی را که از آیات ما روی می‌گردانند، به سبب [همین‌] اعراضشان، به عذابی سخت مجازات خواهیم کرد.

Bu, indirdiğimiz kutsal Kitap'dır, ona uyun. "Bizden önce iki topluluğa kitap indirildi, bizim onların okuduklarından haberimiz yok" demekten veya "Bize kitap indirilseydi onlardan daha doğru yolda olurduk" demekten sakının ki merhamet olunasınız. Şüphesiz o, size Rabbinizden belge, yol gösteren ve rahmet olarak gelmiştir. Allah'ın ayetlerini yalanlayandan ve onlardan yüz çevirenden daha zalim kimdir? Ayetlerimizden yüz çevirenleri, yüz çevirmelerinden ötürü, kötü bir azabla cezalandıracağız.

Atau agar kamu (tidak) mengatakan: "Sesungguhnya jikalau kitab ini diturunkan kepada kami, tentulah kami lebih mendapat petunjuk dari mereka". Sesungguhnya telah datang kepada kamu keterangan yang nyata dari Tuhanmu, petunjuk dan rahmat. Maka siapakah yang lebih zalim daripada orang yang mendustakan ayat-ayat Allah dan berpaling daripadanya? Kelak Kami akan memberi balasan kepada orang-orang yang berpaling dari ayat-ayat Kami dengan siksa yang buruk, disebabkan mereka selalu berpaling.

یا یہ کہو کہ ہمارے اوپر بھی کتاب نازل ہوتی تو ہم ان سے زیادہ ہدایت یافتہ ہوتے تو اب تمہارے پروردگار کی طرف سے واضح دلیل اور ہدایت و رحمت آچکی ہے پھر اس کے بعد اس سے بڑا ظالم کون ہوگا جو اللہ کی نشانیوں کو جھٹلائے اور ان سے اعراض کرے ...عنقریب ہم اپنی نشانیوں سے اعراض کرنے والوں پر بدترین عذاب کریں گے اور وہ ہماری آیتوں سے اعراض کرنے والے اور روکنے والے ہیں

কিংবা বলতে শুরু করঃ যদি আমাদের প্রতি কোন গ্রন্থ অবতীর্ণ হত, আমরা এদের চাইতে অধিক পথপ্রাপ্ত হতাম। অতএব, তোমাদের পালনকর্তার পক্ষ থেকে তোমাদের কাছে সুষ্পষ্ট প্রমাণ, হেদায়েত ও রহমত এসে গেছে। অতঃপর সে ব্যক্তির চাইতে অধিক অনাচারী কে হবে, যে আল্লাহর আয়াত সমূহকে মিথ্যা বলে এবং গা বাঁচিয়ে চলে। অতি সত্ত্বর আমি তাদেরকে শাস্তি দেব। যারা আমার আয়াত সমূহ থেকে গা বাঁচিয়ে চলে-জঘন্য শাস্তি তাদের গা বাঁচানোর কারণে।
