إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ ٱلَّتِىٓ عَلَيْكُمْ وَإِيَّٰىَ ﴿٤٠﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

O Children of Israel, remember My favor which I have bestowed upon you and fulfill My covenant [upon you] that I will fulfill your covenant [from Me], and be afraid of [only] Me.

قرآن حکیم (شرح آیات منتخب)

اسرائیل

کلمةٌ اسرائیل که لقب حضرت یعقوب(ع) - پدر حضرت یوسف(ع) - است» از دو کلمة «اسرا» به معنای عبد و کلمةٌ «ئیل» به معنای اللّه ترکیب شده و به زبان عبری است. حضرت یعقوب(ع) دوازده پسر داشت و نسّب بنی‌اسرائیل به این دوازده پسر منتهی می‌شود. نسّب حضرت موسی(ع) نیز با چهار واسطه به حضرت یعقوب(ع) می‌رسد. مراد از پیمانی که بنی‌اسرائیل با خدا بسته بودندء مواردی است که در یات ۸۳ و ۸۴ همین سوره به آنها اشاره شده" و مراد از نعمتی که خداوند به بنی‌اسرائیل عنایت فرمود نیز نعمت‌هایی است که در آیات ۹ به بعد ذکر شده است.

  • وَإِذْ أَخَذْنَا مِيثَٰقَ بَنِىٓ إِسْرَٰٓءِيلَ لَا تَعْبُدُونَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهَ وَبِٱلْوَٰلِدَيْنِ إِحْسَانًا وَذِى ٱلْقُرْبَىٰ وَٱلْيَتَٰمَىٰ وَٱلْمَسَٰكِينِ وَقُولُوا۟ لِلنَّاسِ حُسْنًا وَأَقِيمُوا۟ ٱلصَّلَوٰةَ وَءَاتُوا۟ ٱلزَّكَوٰةَ ثُمَّ تَوَلَّيْتُمْ إِلَّا قَلِيلًا مِّنكُمْ وَأَنتُم مُّعْرِضُونَ

    And [recall] when We took the covenant from the Children of Israel, [enjoining upon them], "Do not worship except Allah; and to parents do good and to relatives, orphans, and the…

  • وَمُصَدِّقًا لِّمَا بَيْنَ يَدَىَّ مِنَ ٱلتَّوْرَىٰةِ وَلِأُحِلَّ لَكُم بَعْضَ ٱلَّذِى حُرِّمَ عَلَيْكُمْ وَجِئْتُكُم بِـَٔايَةٍ مِّن رَّبِّكُمْ فَٱتَّقُوا۟ ٱللَّهَ وَأَطِيعُونِ

    And [recall] when We took your covenant, [O Children of Israel, to abide by the Torah] and We raised over you the mount, [saying], "Take what We have given you with determination…
