That was because their messengers were coming to them with clear proofs, but they disbelieved, so Allah seized them. Indeed, He is Powerful and severe in punishment.

That was because their apostles used to bring them manifest proofs, but they defied [them]. So Allah seized them. Indeed He is all-strong, severe in retribution.

That was because their messengers kept bringing them clear proofs (of Allah's Sovereignty) but they disbelieved; so Allah seized them. Lo! He is Strong, severe in punishment.

That was because there came to them their messengers with Clear (Signs), but they rejected them: So Allah called them to account: for He is Full of Strength, Strict in Punishment.

That was because their Messengers came to them with the clear signs; but they disbelieved, so God seized them. Surely He is All-strong, terrible in retribution.

این [کیفر دردناک] برای این بود که پیامبرانشان همواره دلایل روشن برای آنان می آوردند و آنان [از روی تکبّر و عناد] کفر می ورزیدند، پس خدا هم همه آنان را [به عذابی سخت] گرفت؛ زیرا او توانا و سخت کیفر است؛

این [کیفر] از آن روی بود که پیامبرانشان دلایل آشکار برایشان می‌آوردند ولی [آنها] انکار می‌کردند. پس خدا [گریبان‌] آنها را گرفت، زیرا او نیرومند سخت‌کیفر است.

Bu, kendilerine açık belgelerle gelen peygamberlerini inkar etmelerinden ötürüdür. Allah da onları bunun için yakalamıştır. Doğrusu O, kuvvetlidir, cezalandırması da şiddetlidir.

Yang demiklan itu adalah karena telah datang kepada mereka rasul-rasul mereka dengan membawa bukti-bukti yang nyata lalu mereka kafir; maka Allah mengazab mereka. Sesungguhnya Dia Maha Kuat lagi Maha Keras hukuman-Nya.

یہ سب اس لئے ہوا کہ ان کے پاس رسول کِھلی ہوئی نشانیاں لے کر آتے تھے تو انہوں نے انکار کردیا تو پھر خدا نے بھی انہیں اپنی گرفت میں لے لیا کہ وہ بہت قوت والا اور سخت عذاب کرنے والا ہے

এর কারণ এই যে, তাদের কাছে তাদের রসূলগণ সুস্পষ্ট নিদর্শনাবলী নিয়ে আগমন করত, অতঃপর তারা কাফের হয়ে যায়, তখন আল্লাহ তাদের ধৃত করেন। নিশ্চয় তিনি শক্তিধর, কঠোর শাস্তিদাতা।
