وَإِذَا لَهُمُ مَا وَمَا لَعَلَّكُمْ ﴿٤٥﴾

But when it is said to them, "Beware of what is before you and what is behind you; perhaps you will receive mercy... "

پیش رو و پشت سر

مفسران در این باره گوناگون سخن گفته‌اند. در این میان به نظر می‌رسد که منظور از پیش روء مجازات‌های دنیاست که نمونه‌ای از آن در آّیات پیش ذکر شد و منظور از پشت سرء مجازات‌های آخرت است که در پشت سر دارند. تعبیر پشت سر به خاطر آن است که هنوز نیامده و گویی پشت سر انسان در حرکت است و سرانجام روزی به او می‌رسد و دامانش را می‌گیرد و منظور از پرهیز کردن از این مجازات‌ها این است که آدمی عوامل آن را ایجاد نکند و کاری نکند که مستوجب این عقوبات گردد.! در روایتی از امام صادق(ع) در تفسیر این آیه می‌خوانیم: معنایش این است که از گناهانی که پیش روی شماست و از کیفری که پشت سرتان است. بپرهیزید.» > **Cited sources** (grade before any load-bearing use): Tafsīr Nemūneh.
