And if they had been entered upon from all its [surrounding] regions and fitnah had been demanded of them, they would have done it and not hesitated over it except briefly.

Had they been invaded from its flanks and had they been asked to apostatize, they would have done so with only a mild hesitation,

If the enemy had entered from all sides and they had been exhorted to treachery, they would have committed it, and would have hesitated thereupon but little.

And if an entry had been effected to them from the sides of the (city), and they had been incited to sedition, they would certainly have brought it to pass, with none but a brief delay!

And if entrance had been forced against them from those quarters, and then they had been asked to apostatise, they would have done so, and but tarried about it briefly.

و اگر از پیرامون خانه هایشان بر آنان حمله می شد و از آنان بازگشت [به شرک و جنگ با مؤمنان] درخواست می شد، آن را می پذیرفتند و برای آن جز مدت کوتاهی [به اندازه تجهیز خود بر ضد مؤمنان] درنگ نمی کردند!!

و اگر از اطراف [مدینه‌] مورد هجوم واقع می‌شدند و آنگاه آنان را به ارتداد می‌خواندند، قطعاً آن را می‌پذیرفتند و جز اندکی در این [کار] درنگ نمی‌کردند؛

Eğer Medine'nin etrafından üzerlerine varılmış olsa, sonra da kendilerinden fitne çıkarmaları istense hemen buna girişip derhal yapmaktan geri kalmazlardı.

Kalau (Yatsrib) diserang dari segala penjuru, kemudian diminta kepada mereka supaya murtad, niscaya mereka mengerjakannya; dan mereka tiada akan bertangguh untuk murtad itu melainkan dalam waktu yang singkat.

حالانکہ اگر ان پر چاروں طرف سے لشکر داخل کردیئے جاتے اور پھر ان سے فتنہ کا سوال کیا جاتا تو فورا حاضر ہوجاتے اور تھوڑی دیر سے زیادہ نہ ٹہرتے

যদি শত্রুপক্ষ চতুর্দিক থেকে নগরে প্রবেশ করে তাদের সাথে মিলিত হত, অতঃপর বিদ্রোহ করতে প্ররোচিত করত, তবে তারা অবশ্যই বিদ্রোহ করত এবং তারা মোটেই বিলম্ব করত না।
