[Remember, O believers], when Allah promised you one of the two groups - that it would be yours - and you wished that the unarmed one would be yours. But Allah intended to establish the truth by His words and to eliminate the disbelievers

When Allah promised you [victory over] one of the two companies, [saying], ‘It is for you,’ you were eager that it should be the one that was unarmed. But Allah desires to confirm the truth with His words, and to root out the faithless,

And when Allah promised you one of the two bands (of the enemy) that it should be yours, and ye longed that other than the armed one might be yours. And Allah willed that He should cause the Truth to triumph by His words, and cut the root of the disbelievers;

Behold! Allah promised you one of the two (enemy) parties, that it should be yours: Ye wished that the one unarmed should be yours, but Allah willed to justify the Truth according to His words and to cut off the roots of the Unbelievers;-

And when God promised you one of the two parties should be yours, and you were wishing that the one not accoutred should be yours; but God was desiring to verify the truth by His words, and to cut off the unbelievers to the last remnant,

و [یاد کنید] هنگامی را که خدا پیروزی بر یکی ازدو گروه [سپاه دشمن یا کاروان تجارتی قریش] را به شما وعده داد، و شما دوست داشتید بر کاروان تجارتی قریش دست یابید، ولی خدا می خواست پیروزی در میدان جنگ را با فرمان نافذی [که دایر بر پیروزی مؤمنان و شکست دشمنان جاری ساخته بود] تحقّق دهد و ریشه کافران را قطع کند.

و [به یاد آورید] هنگامی را که خدا یکی از دو دسته [کاروان تجارتی قریش یا سپاه ابوسفیان‌] را به شما وعده داد که از آنِ شما باشد، و شما دوست داشتید که دسته بی‌سلاح برای شما باشد، و[لی‌] خدا می‌خواست حق [=اسلام‌] را با کلمات خود ثابت، و کافران را ریشه‌کن کند.

Allah bu iki taifeden birini size vadetmişti; siz, kuvvetsiz olanın size düşmesini istiyordunuz. Oysa, suçluların hoşuna gitmese de, hakkı ortaya çıkarmak ve batılı tepelemek için, Allah sözleriyle hakkı ortaya koymak ve inkarcıların kökünü kesmek istiyordu.

Dan (ingatlah), ketika Allah menjanjikan kepadamu bahwa salah satu dari dua golongan (yang kamu hadapi) adalah untukmu, sedang kamu menginginkan bahwa yang tidak mempunyai kekekuatan senjatalah yang untukmu, dan Allah menghendaki untuk membenarkan yang benar dengan ayat-ayat-Nya dan memusnahkan orang-orang kafir,

اور اس وقت کو یاد کرو جب کہ خدا تم سے وعدہ کررہا تھا کہ دو گروہوں میں سے ایک تمہارے لئے بہرحال ہے اور تم چاہتے تھے کہ وہ طاقت والا گروہ نہ ہو اور اللہ اپنے کلمات کے ذریعہ حق کو ثابت کرنا چاہتا ہے اور کفاّر کے سلسلہ کو قطع کردینا چاہتا ہے

আর যখন আল্লাহ দু’টি দলের একটির ব্যাপারে তোমাদের সাথে ওয়াদা করেছিলেন যে, সেটি তোমাদের হস্তগত হবে, আর তোমরা কামনা করছিলে যাতে কোন রকম কন্টক নেই, তাই তোমাদের ভাগে আসুক; অথচ আল্লাহ চাইতেন সত্যকে স্বীয় কালামের মাধ্যমে সত্যে পরিণত করতে এবং কাফেরদের মূল কর্তন করে দিতে,
