And when they meet those who believe, they say, "We have believed"; but when they are alone with one another, they say, "Do you talk to them about what Allah has revealed to you so they can argue with you about it before your Lord?" Then will you not reason?

When they meet the faithful, they say, ‘We believe,’ and when they are alone with one another, they say, ‘Do you recount to them what Allah has revealed to you, so that they may argue with you therewith before your Lord? Do you not exercise your reason?’

And when they fall in with those who believe, they say: We believe. But when they go apart one with another they say: Prate ye to them of that which Allah hath disclosed to you that they may contend with you before your Lord concerning it? Have ye then no sense?

Behold! when they meet the men of Faith, they say: "We believe": But when they meet each other in private, they say: "Shall you tell them what Allah hath revealed to you, that they may engage you in argument about it before your Lord?"- Do ye not understand (their aim)?

And when they meet those who believe, they say 'We believe'; and when they go privily one to another, they say, 'Do you speak to them of what God has revealed to you, that they may thereby dispute with you before your Lord? Have you no understanding?'

و هنگامی که با مؤمنان دیدار کنند، می گویند: ما ایمان آوردیم. و چون با هم خلوت می کنند [از روی اعتراض و ایراد] به یکدیگر می گویند: چرا حقایقی را که خدا [در تورات درباره پیامبر اسلام] برای شما بیان کرده به مؤمنان می گویید تا [روز قیامت با این حقایق] در پیشگاه پروردگارتان بر ضد شما استدلال کنند؟ آیا تعقّل نمی کنید [که نباید زمینه استدلال بر ضد خود را در اختیار مؤمنان گذارید؟!]

و [همین یهودیان‌] چون با کسانی که ایمان آورده‌اند برخورد کنند، می‌گویند: «ما ایمان آورده‌ایم.» و وقتی با همدیگر خلوت می‌کنند، می‌گویند: «چرا از آنچه خداوند بر شما گشوده است، برای آنان حکایت می‌کنید تا آنان به [استناد] آن، پیش پروردگارتان بر ضد شما استدلال کنند؟ آیا فکر نمی‌کنید؟»

İnananlarla karşılaştıkları zaman, "İnandık" derlerdi; birbirleriyle yalnız kaldıklarında, "Rabbinizin katında size karşı hüccet göstersinler diye mi Allah'ın size açıkladığını onlara anlatıyorsunuz? Bunu akletmiyor musunuz?" derlerdi.

Dan apabila mereka berjumpa dengan orang-orang yang beriman, mereka berkata: "Kamipun telah beriman," tetapi apabila mereka berada sesama mereka saja, lalu mereka berkata: "Apakah kamu menceritakan kepada mereka (orang-orang mukmin) apa yang telah diterangkan Allah kepadamu, supaya dengan demikian mereka dapat mengalahkan hujjahmu di hadapan Tuhanmu; tidakkah kamu mengerti?"

یہ یہودی ایمان والوںسے ملتے ہیں تو کہتے ہیں کہ ہم بھی ایمان لے آئے اور آپس میں ایک دوسرے ملتے ہیں توکہتے ہیں کہ کیا تم مسلمانوںکو توریت کے مطالب بتادوگے کہ وہ اپنے نبی کے اوصاف سے تمہارے اوپر استدلال کریں کیا تمہیں عقل نہیں ہے کہ ایسی حماقت کروگے

যখন তারা মুসলমানদের সাথে মিলিত হয়, তখন বলেঃ আমরা মুসলমান হয়েছি। আর যখন পরস্পরের সাথে নিভৃতে অবস্থান করে, তখন বলে, পালনকর্তা তোমাদের জন্যে যা প্রকাশ করেছেন, তা কি তাদের কাছে বলে দিচ্ছ? তাহলে যে তারা এ নিয়ে পালকর্তার সামনে তোমাদেরকে মিথ্যা প্রতিপন্ন করবে। তোমরা কি তা উপলব্ধি কর না?
