Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it [as if] setting in a spring of dark mud, and he found near it a people. Allah said, "O Dhul-Qarnayn, either you punish [them] or else adopt among them [a way of] goodness."

When he reached the place where the sun sets, he found it setting over a warm sea, and by it he found a people. We said, ‘O Dhul Qarnayn! You will either punish them, or treat them with kindness.’

Till, when he reached the setting-place of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and found a people thereabout. We said: O Dhu'l-Qarneyn! Either punish or show them kindness.

Until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it set in a spring of murky water: Near it he found a People: We said: "O Zul-qarnain! (thou hast authority,) either to punish them, or to treat them with kindness."

until, when he reached the setting of the sun, he found it setting in a muddy spring, and he found nearby a people. We said, 'O Dhool Karnain, either thou shalt chastise them, or thou shalt take towards them a way of kindness.'

تا زمانی که به محل غروب خورشید رسید [منظره غروب] خورشید را چنین یافت که در چشمه ای گرم و لجن آلود غروب می کند، و نزد آن قومی را یافت [که فساد و ستم می کردند]. گفتیم: ای ذوالقرنین! یا [این قوم را به کیفر فساد و ستمشان] عذاب می کنی و یا در میانشان شیوه ای نیک در پیش می گیری.

تا آنگاه که به غروبگاه خورشید رسید، به نظرش آمد که [خورشید] در چشمه‌ای گِل‌آلود و سیاه غروب می‌کند، و نزدیک آن طایفه‌ای را یافت. فرمودیم: «ای ذوالقرنین، [اختیار با توست‌] یا عذاب می‌کنی یا در میانشان [روش‌] نیکویی پیش می‌گیری.»

Sonunda güneşin battığı yere ulaşınca onu, kara balçıklı bir suda batıyor gördü. Orada bir millete rastladı. "Zülkarneyn! Onlara azap da edebilirsin, iyi muamelede de bulunabilirsin" dedik.

Hingga apabila dia telah sampai ketempat terbenam matahari, dia melihat matahari terbenam di dalam laut yang berlumpur hitam, dan dia mendapati di situ segolongan umat. Kami berkata: "Hai Dzulkarnain, kamu boleh menyiksa atau boleh berbuat kebaikan terhadap mereka.

یہاں تک کہ جب وہ غروب آفتاب کی منزل تک پہنچے تو دیکھا کہ وہ ایک کالی کیچڑ والے چشمہ میں ڈوب رہا ہے اور اس چشمہ کے پاس ایک قوم کو پایا تو ہم نے کہا کہ تمہیں اختیار ہے چاہے ان پر عذاب کرو یا ان کے درمیان حسن سلوک کی روش اختیار کرو

অবশেষে তিনি যখন সুর্যের অস্তাচলে পৌছলেন; তখন তিনি সুর্যকে এক পঙ্কিল জলাশয়ে অস্ত যেতে দেখলেন এবং তিনি সেখানে এক সম্প্রদায়কে দেখতে পেলেন। আমি বললাম, হে যুলকারনাইন! আপনি তাদেরকে শাস্তি দিতে পারেন অথবা তাদেরকে সদয়ভাবে গ্রহণ করতে পারেন।
