شتاب برای چه؟

«رَدِف» از مادةٌ «رّدف» به معنای قرار گرفتن پشت سر چیزی است. از این رو به کسی که پشت اسب سوار می‌نشیند» «ردیف» گفته می‌شود. همچنین در مورد افراد و اشیایی که پشت سر یکدیگر قرار می‌گیرندء این کلمه به کار می‌رود. در این که منظور از این عذاب چه بوده» بعضی می‌گویند همان ضربةٌ شدیدی است که بر پیکر این مجرمان لجوج در جنگ بدر - نخستین پیکار مسلمانان با کفار - وارد شد و هفتاد نفر از سردمداران آنها به خاک افتادند و هفتاد نفر اسیر شدند. این احتمال نیز وجود دارد که منظورء مجازات دردناک عمومی باشدء که البته به خاطر وجود پیامبر(ص) که «رحمة للعالّمین» بودء از آنها دفع شد و ید ۳۳ سورة انفال نیز شاهد بر آن است. تعبیر «عسی» (شاید) از زبان پیامبر(ص) است و حتی وجود آن در کلام الهی نیز - بر خلاف آنچه بعضی پنداشته‌اند - هیچ اشکالی ندارد؛ چرا که اشاره به وجود مقدمات و مقتضای چیزی است؛ هر چند ممکن است این مقدمات به مانع برخورد کند و به نتیجةٌ نهایی نرسد.
