[Allah] said, "What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?" [Satan] said, "I am better than him. You created me from fire and created him from clay."

Said He, ‘What prevented you from prostrating, when I commanded you? ’‘I am better than him,’ he said. ‘You created me from fire and You created him from clay.’

He said: What hindered thee that thou didst not fall prostrate when I bade thee? (Iblis) said: I am better than him. Thou createdst me of fire while him Thou didst create of mud.

(Allah) said: "What prevented thee from prostrating when I commanded thee?" He said: "I am better than he: Thou didst create me from fire, and him from clay."

Said He, 'What prevented thee to bow thyself, when I commanded thee?' Said he, 'I am better than he; Thou createdst me of fire, and him Thou createdst of clay.'

خدا فرمود: هنگامی که تو را امر کردم، چه چیز تو را مانع شد که سجده نکردی؟ گفت: من از او بهترم، مرا از آتش پدید آورده ای و او را از گِل آفریدی.

فرمود: «چون تو را به سجده امر کردم چه چیز تو را باز داشت از اینکه سجده کنی؟» گفت: «من از او بهترم. مرا از آتشی آفریدی و او را از گِل آفریدی.»

Allah, "Sana emrettiğim halde, seni secdeden alıkoyan nedir?" dedi, "Beni ateşten onu çamurdan yarattın, ben ondan üstünüm" cevabını verdi.

Allah berfirman: "Apakah yang menghalangimu untuk bersujud (kepada Adam) di waktu Aku menyuruhmu?" Menjawab iblis "Saya lebih baik daripadanya: Engkau ciptakan saya dari api sedang dia Engkau ciptakan dari tanah".

ارشاد ہوا کہ تجھے کس چیز نے روکا تھا کہ تونے میرے حکم کے بعد بھی سجدہ نہیں کیا -اس نے کہا کہ میں ان سے بہتر ہوں -تو نے مجھے آگ سے پیدا کیا ہے اور انہیں خاک سے بنایا ہے

আল্লাহ বললেনঃ আমি যখন নির্দেশ দিয়েছি, তখন তোকে কিসে সেজদা করতে বারণ করল? সে বললঃ আমি তার চাইতে শ্রেষ্ট। আপনি আমাকে আগুন দ্বারা সৃষ্টি করেছেন এবং তাকে সৃষ্টি করেছেন মাটির দ্বারা।
