And those who are taken in death among you and leave wives behind - they, [the wives, shall] wait four months and ten [days]. And when they have fulfilled their term, then there is no blame upon you for what they do with themselves in an acceptable manner. And Allah is [fully] Acquainted with what you do.

As for those of you who die leaving wives, they shall wait by themselves four months and ten days, and when they complete their term, there will be no sin upon you in respect of what they may do with themselves in accordance with honourable norms. And Allah is well aware of what you do.

Such of you as die and leave behind them wives, they (the wives) shall wait, keeping themselves apart, four months and ten days. And when they reach the term (prescribed for them) then there is no sin for you in aught that they may do with themselves in decency. Allah is informed of what ye do.

If any of you die and leave widows behind, they shall wait concerning themselves four months and ten days: When they have fulfilled their term, there is no blame on you if they dispose of themselves in a just and reasonable manner. And Allah is well acquainted with what ye do.

And those of you who die, leaving wives, they shall wait by themselves for four months and ten nights; when they have reached their term then it is no fault in you what they may do with themselves honourably. God is aware of the things you do.

و کسانی از شما که می میرند و همسرانی باقی می گذارند، باید همسرانْ چهار ماه و ده روز انتظار برند [و از شوهر کردن خودداری ورزند]؛ پس چون به پایان مدتشان رسیدند، در آنچه درباره خودشان به طور شایسته و متعارف [نسبت به ازدواج یا ترک آن] انجام دهند بر شما [حاکمان، وارثان متوفّی و اقوام زنان] گناهی نیست؛ و خدا از آنچه انجام می دهید، آگاه است.

و کسانی از شما که می‌میرند و همسرانی بر جای می‌گذارند، [همسران‌] چهار ماه و ده روز انتظار می‌برند؛ پس هرگاه عدّه خود را به پایان رساندند، در آنچه آنان به نحو پسندیده درباره خود انجام دهند، گناهی بر شما نیست، و خداوند به آنچه انجام می‌دهید آگاه است.

İçinizden ölenlerin bırakmış olduğu eşler kendi kendilerine dört ay on gün beklerler; müddetleri sona erdiğinde, onların kendi haklarında uygun şekilde yaptıklarından dolayı size sorumluluk yoktur. Allah işlediklerinizden haberdardır.

Orang-orang yang meninggal dunia di antaramu dengan meninggalkan isteri-isteri (hendaklah para isteri itu) menangguhkan dirinya (ber'iddah) empat bulan sepuluh hari. Kemudian apabila telah habis 'iddahnya, maka tiada dosa bagimu (para wali) membiarkan mereka berbuat terhadap diri mereka menurut yang patut. Allah mengetahui apa yang kamu perbuat.

اور جو لوگ تم میں سے بیویاں چھوڑ کر مرجائیں ان کی بیویاں چار مہینے دس دن انتظار کریں گی جب یہ مدّت پوری ہو جائے تو جو مناسب کام اپنے حق میں کریں اس میں کوئی حرج نہیں ہے خدا تمہارے اعمال سے خو ب باخبر ہے

আর তোমাদের মধ্যে যারা মৃত্যুবরণ করবে এবং নিজেদের স্ত্রীদেরকে ছেড়ে যাবে, তখন সে স্ত্রীদের কর্তব্য হলো নিজেকে চার মাস দশ দিন পর্যন্ত অপেক্ষা করিয়ে রাখা। তারপর যখন ইদ্দত পূর্ণ করে নেবে, তখন নিজের ব্যাপারে নীতি সঙ্গত ব্যবস্থা নিলে কোন পাপ নেই। আর তোমাদের যাবতীয় কাজের ব্যাপারেই আল্লাহর অবগতি রয়েছে।
