ٱلَّذِينَ إِن أَن عَلَىٰ مَا ﴿٦﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

O you who have believed, if there comes to you a disobedient one with information, investigate, lest you harm a people out of ignorance and become, over what you have done, regretful.

به اخبار فاسقان اعتنا نکنید

در شأن نزول این آیه نقل شده که این آیه در باره «ولید بن عقبة» نازل شده است که پیامبر(ص) او را برای دریافت زکات از قبیلةٌ «بنی‌المصطلق» اعزام کرد. هنگامی که اهل قبیله باخبر شدند که نمایندهٌ پیامبر می‌آید. با خوشحالی به استقبال او شتافتند؛ ولی چون میان آنها و ولید در جاهلیت خصومت شدیدی بود» تصور کرد آنها به قصد کشتنش آمده‌اند. پس خدمت پیامبر بازگشت و عرض کرد: آنها از پرداخت زکات خودداری کردند. می‌دانیم که امتناع از پرداخت زکات» نوعی قیام بر ضد حکومت اسلامی تلقی می‌شود. بنابر این» او مدعی بود که آنها مرند شده‌اند. پیامبر(ص) سخت خشمگین شد و تصمیم گرفت با آنها پیکار کند. این آیه نازل شد و به مسلمانان دستور داد که هرگاه فاسقی خبری آورد»ء در بارة آن تحقیق کنید.

    So they will deny you, [disbelievers], in what you say, and you cannot avert [punishment] or [find] help. And whoever commits injustice among you - We will make him taste a great…

    Thus the word of your Lord has come into effect upon those who defiantly disobeyed - that they will not believe.
