They will say there were three, the fourth of them being their dog; and they will say there were five, the sixth of them being their dog - guessing at the unseen; and they will say there were seven, and the eighth of them was their dog. Say, [O Muhammad], "My Lord is most knowing of their number. None knows them except a few. So do not argue about them except with an obvious argument and do not inquire about them among [the speculators] from anyone."

They will say, ‘[They are] three; their dog is the fourth of them,’ and say, ‘[They are] five, their dog is the sixth of them,’ taking a shot at the invisible. They will say, ‘[They are] seven, their dog is the eighth of them.’ Say, ‘My Lord knows best their number, and none knows them except a few.’ So do not dispute concerning them, except for a seeming dispute, and do not question about them any of them.

(Some) will say: They were three, their dog the fourth, and (some) say: Five, their dog the sixth, guessing at random; and (some) say: Seven, and their dog the eighth. Say (O Muhammad): My Lord is Best Aware of their number. None knoweth them save a few. So contend not concerning them except with an outward contending, and ask not any of them to pronounce concerning them.

(Some) say they were three, the dog being the fourth among them; (others) say they were five, the dog being the sixth,- doubtfully guessing at the unknown; (yet others) say they were seven, the dog being the eighth. Say thou: "My Lord knoweth best their number; It is but few that know their (real case)." Enter not, therefore, into controversies concerning them, except on a matter that is clear, nor consult any of them about (the affair of) the Sleepers.

(They will say, 'Three; and 'their dog was the fourth of them.' They will say, 'Five; and their dog was the sixth of them, guessing at the Unseen. They will say, 'Seven; and their dog was the eighth of them.' Say: 'My Lord knows very well their number, and none knows them, except a few.' So do not dispute with them, except in outward disputation, and ask not any of them for a pronouncement on them.

به زودی خواهند گفت: سه نفر بودند، چهارمین آنان سگشان بود. و می گویند: پنج نفر بودند، و ششمین آنان سگشان بود، در حالی که [این اظهار نظرهای بی دلیل] تیر به تاریکی انداختن است. و می گویند: هفت نفر بودند، هشتمین آنان سگشان بود. بگو: پروردگارم به شماره آنان آگاه تر است، جز اندکی کسی شماره آنان را نمی داند. پس درباره آنان بحث و مجادله مکن مگر بحث و مجادله ای ظاهر، و در مورد آنان از هیچ کس نظر مخواه.

به زودی خواهند گفت: «سه تن بودند [و] چهارمین آنها سگشان بود.» و می‌گویند: «پنج تن بودند [و] ششمین آنها سگشان بود.» تیر در تاریکی می‌اندازند. و [عده‌ای‌] می‌گویند: «هفت تن بودند و هشتمین آنها سگشان بود.» بگو: «پروردگارم به شماره آنها آگاه‌تر است، جز اندکی [کسی شماره‌] آنها را نمی‌داند.» پس در باره ایشان جز به صورت ظاهر جدال مکن و در مورد آنها از هیچ کس جویا مشو.

Karanlığa taş atar gibi, "Mağara ehli üçtür, dördüncüleri köpekleridir" derler, yahut, "Beştir, altıncıları köpekleridir" derler, yahut "Yedidir, sekizincileri köpekleridir" derler. De ki: "Onların sayısını en iyi bilen Rabbim'dir. Onları pek az kimseden başkası bilmez." Bunun için, onlar hakkında, bu kısaca anlatılanın dışında, kimseyle tartışma ve onlar hakkında kimseden bir şey sorma.

Nanti (ada orang yang akan) mengatakan (jumlah mereka) adalah tiga orang yang keempat adalah anjingnya, dan (yang lain) mengatakan: "(jumlah mereka) adalah lima orang yang keenam adalah anjing nya", sebagai terkaan terhadap barang yang gaib; dan (yang lain lagi) mengatakan: "(jumlah mereka) tujuh orang, yang ke delapan adalah anjingnya". Katakanlah: "Tuhanku lebih mengetahui jumlah mereka; tidak ada orang yang mengetahui (bilangan) mereka kecuali sedikit". Karena itu janganlah kamu (Muhammad) bertengkar tentang hal mereka, kecuali pertengkaran lahir saja dan jangan kamu menanyakan tentang mereka (pemuda-pemuda itu) kepada seorangpun di antara mereka.

عنقریب یہ لوگ کہیں گے کہ وہ تین تھے اور چوتھا ان کا کتاّ تھا اور بعض کہیں گے کہ پانچ تھے اور چھٹا ان کا کتا تھا اور یہ سب صرف غیبی اندازے ہوں گے اور بعض تو یہ بھی کہیں گے کہ وہ سات تھے اور آٹھواں ان کا کتا تھا-آپ کہہ دیجئے کہ خدا ان کی تعداد کو بہتر جانتا ہے اورچند افراد کے علاوہ کوئی نہیں جانتا ہے لہذا آپ ان سے ظاہری گفتگو کے علاوہ واقعا کوئی بحث نہ کریں اور ان کے بارے میں کسی سے دریافت بھی نہ کریں

অজ্ঞাত বিষয়ে অনুমানের উপর ভিত্তি করে এখন তারা বলবেঃ তারা ছিল তিন জন; তাদের চতুর্থটি তাদের কুকুর। একথাও বলবে; তারা পাঁচ জন। তাদের ছষ্ঠটি ছিল তাদের কুকুর। আরও বলবেঃ তারা ছিল সাত জন। তাদের অষ্টমটি ছিল তাদের কুকুর। বলুনঃ আমার পালনকর্তা তাদের সংখ্যা ভাল জানেন। তাদের খবর অল্প লোকই জানে। সাধারণ আলোচনা ছাড়া আপনি তাদের সম্পর্কে বিতর্ক করবেন না এবং তাদের অবস্থা সম্পর্কে তাদের কাউকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ ও করবেন না।
