There has already been for you an excellent pattern in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people, "Indeed, we are disassociated from you and from whatever you worship other than Allah. We have denied you, and there has appeared between us and you animosity and hatred forever until you believe in Allah alone" except for the saying of Abraham to his father, "I will surely ask forgiveness for you, but I have not [power to do] for you anything against Allah. Our Lord, upon You we have relied, and to You we have returned, and to You is the destination.

There is certainly a good exemplar for you in Abraham and those who were with him, when they said to their own people, ‘Indeed we repudiate you and whatever you worship besides Allah. We disown you, and enmity and hate have appeared between you and us for ever, unless you come to have faith in Allah alone,’ apart from Abraham’s saying to his father, ‘I will surely plead forgiveness for you, though I cannot avail you anything against Allah.’ ‘Our Lord! In You do we put our trust, and to You do we turn penitently, and toward You is the destination.

There is a goodly pattern for you in Abraham and those with him, when they told their folk: Lo! we are guiltless of you and all that ye worship beside Allah. We have done with you. And there hath arisen between us and you hostility and hate for ever until ye believe in Allah only - save that which Abraham promised his father (when he said): I will ask forgiveness for thee, though I own nothing for thee from Allah - Our Lord! In Thee we put our trust, and unto Thee we turn repentant, and unto Thee is the journeying.

There is for you an excellent example (to follow) in Abraham and those with him, when they said to their people: "We are clear of you and of whatever ye worship besides Allah: we have rejected you, and there has arisen, between us and you, enmity and hatred for ever,- unless ye believe in Allah and Him alone": But not when Abraham said to his father: "I will pray for forgiveness for thee, though I have no power (to get) aught on thy behalf from Allah." (They prayed): "Our Lord! in Thee do we trust, and to Thee do we turn in repentance: to Thee is (our) Final Goal.

You have had a good example in Abraham, and those with him, when they said to their people, 'We are quit of you and that you serve, apart from God. We disbelieve in you, and between us and you enmity has shown itself, and hatred for ever, until you believe in God alone. (Except that Abraham said unto his father, 'Certainly I shall ask pardon for thee; but I have no power to do aught for thee against God.') 'Our Lord, in Thee we trust; to Thee we turn; to Thee is the homecoming.

مسلماً برای شما در ابراهیم و کسانی که با اویند سرمشقی نیکوست، آن گاه که به قوم خود گفتند: ما از شما و آنچه به جای خدا می پرستید بیزاریم، ما به شما کافریم و میان ما و شما دشمنی و کینه همیشگی پدیدار شده است، تا آن زمان که به خدای یگانه ایمان آورید. [آری، ابراهیم و مؤمنان جز اعلام بیزاری سخنی با بت پرستان نداشتند] مگر سخن ابراهیم به پدرش که گفت: من برای تو [در صورتی که دست از دشمنی و کینه با حق برداری] آمرزش خواهم خواست و در برابر خدا به سود تو اختیار چیزی را ندارم. پروردگارا! بر تو توکل کردیم، و به سوی تو بازگشتیم، و بازگشت به سوی توست.

قطعاً برای شما در [پیروی از] ابراهیم و کسانی که با اویند سرمشقی نیکوست: آنگاه که به قوم خود گفتند: «ما از شما و از آنچه به جای خدا می‌پرستید بیزاریم. به شما کفر می‌ورزیم و میان ما و شما دشمنی و کینه همیشگی پدیدار شده تا وقتی که فقط به خدا ایمان آورید.» جز [در] سخن ابراهیم [که‌] به [نا]پدر[ی‌] خود [گفت:] «حتماً برای تو آمرزش خواهم خواست، با آنکه در برابر خدا اختیار چیزی را برای تو ندارم.» «ای پروردگار ما! بر تو اعتماد کردیم و به سوی تو بازگشتیم و فرجام به سوی توست.

İbrahim ve onunla beraber olanlarda, sizin için uyulacak güzel bir örnek vardır. Onlar milletlerine şöyle demişlerdi: "Biz sizden ve Allah'tan başka taptıklarınızdan uzağız; sizin dininizi inkar ediyoruz; bizimle sizin aranızda yalnız Allah'a inanmanıza kadar ebedi düşmanlık ve öfke başgöstermiştir." -Yalnız, İbrahim'in, babasına: "And olsun ki, senin için mağfiret dileyeceğim, fakat sana Allah'tan gelecek herhangi bir şeyi savmaya gücüm yetmez" sözü bu örneğin dışındadır- "Rabbimiz! Sana güvendik, Sana yöneldik; dönüş Sanadır."

Sesungguhnya telah ada suri tauladan yang baik bagimu pada Ibrahim dan orang-orang yang bersama dengan dia; ketika mereka berkata kepada kaum mereka: "Sesungguhnya kami berlepas diri daripada kamu dari daripada apa yang kamu sembah selain Allah, kami ingkari (kekafiran)mu dan telah nyata antara kami dan kamu permusuhan dan kebencian buat selama-lamanya sampai kamu beriman kepada Allah saja. Kecuali perkataan Ibrahim kepada bapaknya: "Sesungguhnya aku akan memohonkan ampunan bagi kamu dan aku tiada dapat menolak sesuatupun dari kamu (siksaan) Allah". (Ibrahim berkata): "Ya Tuhan kami hanya kepada Engkaulah kami bertawakkal dan hanya kepada Engkaulah kami bertaubat dan hanya kepada Engkaulah kami kembali".

تمہارے لئے بہترین نمونہ عمل ابراہیم علیھ السّلام اور ان کے ساتھیوں میں ہے جب انہوں نے اپنی قوم سے کہہ دیا کہ ہم تم سے اور تمہارے معبودوں سے بیزار ہیں - ہم نے تمہارا انکار کردیا ہے اور ہمارے تمہارے درمیان بغض اور عداوت بالکل واضح ہے یہاں تک کہ تم خدائے وحدہ لاشریک پر ایمان لے آؤ علاوہ ابراہیم علیھ السّلام کے اس قول کے جو انہوں نے اپنے مربّی باپ سے کہہ دیا تھا کہ میں تمہارے لئے استغفار ضرور کروں گا لیکن میں پروردگار کی طرف سے کوئی اختیار نہیں رکھتا ہوں. خدایا میں نے تیرے اوپر بھروسہ کیا ہے اور تیری ہی طرف رجوع کیا ہے اور تیری ہی طرف بازگشت بھی ہے

তোমাদের জন্যে ইব্রাহীম ও তাঁর সঙ্গীগণের মধ্যে চমৎকার আদর্শ রয়েছে। তারা তাদের সম্প্রদায়কে বলেছিলঃ তোমাদের সাথে এবং তোমরা আল্লাহর পরিবর্তে যার এবাদত কর, তার সাথে আমাদের কোন সম্পর্ক নেই। আমরা তোমাদের মানি না। তোমরা এক আল্লাহর প্রতি বিশ্বাস স্থাপন না করলে তোমাদের মধ্যে ও আমাদের মধ্যে চিরশত্রুতা থাকবে। কিন্তু ইব্রাহীমের উক্তি তাঁর পিতার উদ্দেশে এই আদর্শের ব্যতিক্রম। তিনি বলেছিলেনঃ আমি অবশ্যই তোমার জন্য ক্ষমাপ্রার্থনা করব। তোমার উপকারের জন্যে আল্লাহর কাছে আমার আর কিছু করার নেই। হে আমাদের পালনকর্তা! আমরা তোমারই উপর ভরসা করেছি, তোমারই দিকে মুখ করেছি এবং তোমারই নিকট আমাদের প্রত্যাবর্তন।
