وَلَهُم مَّا ﴿٥٧﴾

And they attribute to Allah daughters - exalted is He - and for them is what they desire.

اعتقاد به دختردار بودن خدا

یکی دیگر از رسوم و بدعت‌های شوم مشرکان این بود که برای خداوند که از هرگونه آلایش جسمانی مبرا استء دخترانی قائل می‌شدند و معتقد بودند که فرشتگان دختران خدایند؛ ولی هنگامی که نوبت خودشان می‌رسید» هرگز حاضر نبودند همین دختران را به خود نسبت دهند. اصلاً دختر برای آنها عیب و ننگ و مایة سرشکستگی و بدبختی محسوب می‌شد و پسر که می‌توانست در جنگ‌ها و غارتگری‌ها کمک کند و کسب درآمد کندء ارزشمند بود.
