If Allah should return you to a faction of them [after the expedition] and then they ask your permission to go out [to battle], say, "You will not go out with me, ever, and you will never fight with me an enemy. Indeed, you were satisfied with sitting [at home] the first time, so sit [now] with those who stay behind."

If Allah brings you back [from the battlefront] to a group of them and they seek your permission to go forth, say, ‘You shall never go forth with me, and you shall not fight with me against any enemy. You were indeed pleased to sit back the first time, so sit back with those who stay behind.’

If Allah bring thee back (from the campaign) unto a party of them and they ask of thee leave to go out (to fight), then say unto them: Ye shall never more go out with me nor fight with me against a foe. Ye were content with sitting still the first time. So sit still, with the useless.

If, then, Allah bring thee back to any of them, and they ask thy permission to come out (with thee), say: "Never shall ye come out with me, nor fight an enemy with me: for ye preferred to sit inactive on the first occasion: Then sit ye (now) with those who lag behind."

So, if God returns thee to a party of them and they ask leave of thee to go forth, say: 'You shall not go forth with me ever, and you shall not fight with me any enemy. You were well-pleased to tarry the first time, so now tarry with those behind.'

چنانچه خدا تو را [از سفر جنگ تبوک] به سوی گروهی از آنان [که بدون عذر از جنگ بازماندند] بازگردانید و آنان برای بیرون آمدن [به سوی جنگی دیگر] از تو اجازه خواستند، پس بگو: هرگز با من بیرون نخواهید آمد، و هرگز همراه من با هیچ دشمنی نخواهید جنگید؛ زیرا شما نخستین بار به نشستن در خانه [و ترک جنگ] خوشحال شدید، اکنون هم با مخالفین بنشینید.

و اگر خدا تو را به سوی طایفه‌ای از آنان بازگردانید، و آنان برای بیرون آمدن [به جنگ دیگری‌] از تو اجازه خواستند، بگو: «شما هرگز با من خارج نخواهید شد، و هرگز همراه من با هیچ دشمنی نبرد نخواهید کرد، زیرا شما نخستین‌بار به نشستن تن دردادید. پس [اکنون هم‌] با خانه‌نشینان بنشینید.»

Allah seni geri döndürüp, onlardan bir toplulukla karşılaştırdığı zaman, senden savaşa çıkmak için izin isterlerse, de ki: "Benimle asla çıkamayacaksınız, benim yanımda hiçbir düşmanla savaşmıyacaksınız; çünkü baştan, oturup kalmaya razı oldunuz. Artık geri kalanlarla beraber oturun."

Maka jika Allah mengembalikanmu kepada suatu golongan dari mereka, kemudian mereka minta izin kepadamu untuk keluar (pergi berperang), maka Katakanlah: "Kamu tidak boleh keluar bersamaku selama-lamanya dan tidak boleh memerangi musuh bersamaku. Sesungguhnya kamu telah rela tidak pergi berperang kali yang pertama. Karena itu duduklah bersama orang-orang yang tidak ikut berperang".

اس کے بعد اگر خدا آپ کو ان کے کسی گروہ تک میدان سے واپس لائے اور یہ دوبارہ خروج کی اجازت طلب کریں تو آپ کہہ دیجئے تم لوگ کبھی میرے ساتھ نہیں نکل سکتے اور کسی دشمن سے جہاد نہیں کرسکتے تم نے پہلے ہی بیٹھے رہنا پسند کیا تھا تو اب بھی پیچھے رہ جانے والوں کے ساتھ بیٹھے رہو

বস্তুতঃ আল্লাহ যদি তোমাকে তাদের মধ্য থেকে কোন শ্রেণীবিশেষের দিকে ফিরিয়ে নিয়ে যান এবং অতঃপর তারা তোমার কাছে অভিযানে বেরোবার অনুমতি কামনা করে, তবে তুমি বলো যে, তোমরা কখনো আমার সাথে বেরোবে না এবং আমার পক্ষ হয়ে কোন শত্রুর সাথে যুদ্ধ করবে না, তোমরা তো প্রথমবারে বসে থাকা পছন্দ করেছ, কাজেই পেছনে পড়ে থাকা লোকদের সাথেই বসে থাক।
