And indeed, they were about to drive you from the land to evict you therefrom. And then [when they do], they will not remain [there] after you, except for a little.

They were about to hound you out of the land, to expel you from it, but then they would not have stayed after you but a little.

And they indeed wished to scare thee from the land that they might drive thee forth from thence, and then they would have stayed (there) but a little after thee.

Their purpose was to scare thee off the land, in order to expel thee; but in that case they would not have stayed (therein) after thee, except for a little while.

Indeed they were near to startling thee from the land, to expel thee from it, and then they would have tarried after thee only a little --

و نزدیک بود [مشرکان] تو را از این سرزمین حرکت دهند تا از آن بیرونت کنند، و در آن صورت پس از تو جز مدتی اندک درنگ نمی کردند [و دچار عذاب خدا می شدند.]

و چیزی نمانده بود که تو را از این سرزمین بَرْکَنَنْد، تا تو را از آنجا بیرون سازند، و در آن صورت آنان [هم‌] پس از تو جز [زمان‌] اندکی نمی‌ماندند؛

Memleketinden çıkarmak için seni nerdeyse zorlayacaklardı. O takdirde senin ardından onlar da pek az kalabilirlerdi.

Dan sesungguhnya benar-benar mereka hampir membuatmu gelisah di negeri (Mekah) untuk mengusirmu daripadanya dan kalau terjadi demikian, niscaya sepeninggalmu mereka tidak tinggal, melainkan sebentar saja.

اور یہ لوگ آپ کو زمین مکہّ سے دل برداشتہ کررہے تھے کہ وہاں سے نکال دیں حالانکہ آپ کے بعد یہ بھی تھوڑے دنوں سے زیادہ نہ ٹھہر سکے

তারা তো আপনাকে এ ভুখন্ড থেকে উৎখাত করে দিতে চুড়ান্ত চেষ্টা করেছিল যাতে আপনাকে এখান থেকে বহিস্কার করে দেয়া যায়। তখন তারাও আপনার পর সেখানে অল্প কালই মাত্র টিকে থাকত।
