وَإِذْ يَٰمُوسَىٰ لَن لَكَ حَتَّىٰ وَأَنتُمْ ﴿٥٥﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

And [recall] when you said, "O Moses, we will never believe you until we see Allah outright"; so the thunderbolt took you while you were looking on.

    Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing."

  • قَوْمَ فِرْعَوْنَ أَلَا يَتَّقُونَ

    The people of Pharaoh. Will they not fear Allah?"

  • فَأَوْجَسَ فِى نَفْسِهِۦ خِيفَةً مُّوسَىٰ

    And he sensed within himself apprehension, did Moses.

  • يَٰٓأَيُّهَا ٱلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوا۟ لَا تَكُونُوا۟ كَٱلَّذِينَ ءَاذَوْا۟ مُوسَىٰ فَبَرَّأَهُ ٱللَّهُ مِمَّا قَالُوا۟ وَكَانَ عِندَ ٱللَّهِ وَجِيهًا

    O you who have believed, be not like those who abused Moses; then Allah cleared him of what they said. And he, in the sight of Allah, was distinguished.

  • إِن نَّقُولُ إِلَّا ٱعْتَرَىٰكَ بَعْضُ ءَالِهَتِنَا بِسُوٓءٍ قَالَ إِنِّىٓ أُشْهِدُ ٱللَّهَ وَٱشْهَدُوٓا۟ أَنِّى بَرِىٓءٌ مِّمَّا تُشْرِكُونَ

    We only say that some of our gods have possessed you with evil." He said, "Indeed, I call Allah to witness, and witness [yourselves] that I am free from whatever you associate…
