And they have already come upon the town which was showered with a rain of evil. So have they not seen it? But they are not expecting resurrection.

Certainly they must have passed the town on which an evil shower was rained. Have they not seen it? Rather, they did not expect resurrection [to happen].

And indeed they have passed by the township whereon was rained the fatal rain. Can it be that they have not seen it? Nay, but they hope for no resurrection.

And the (Unbelievers) must indeed have passed by the town on which was rained a shower of evil: did they not then see it (with their own eyes)? But they fear not the Resurrection.

Surely they have come by the city that was rained on by an evil rain; what, have they not seen it? Nay, but they look for no upraising.

یقیناً مشرکان مکه بر شهری که [محل زندگی قوم لوط بود و] بر آن باران عذاب باریده شد، گذر کرده اند، پس آیا آنجا را ندیده اند؟ [چرا! دیده اند] ولی [عبرت نگرفته اند، چون] برانگیخته شدن [مردگان] را [برای رسیدن به پاداش اعمال] امید و انتظار ندارند.

و قطعاً بر شهری که باران بلا بر آن بارانده شد گذشته‌اند؛ مگر آن را ندیده‌اند؟ [چرا،] ولی امید به زنده‌شدن ندارند.

Bu putperestler and olsun ki, bela yağmuruna tutulmuş olan kasabaya uğramışlardı. Onu görmediler mi? Hayır; tekrar dirilmeyi ummuyorlardı.

Dan sesungguhnya mereka (kaum musyrik Mekah) telah melalui sebuah negeri (Sadum) yang (dulu) dihujani dengan hujan yang sejelek-jeleknya (hujan batu). Maka apakah mereka tidak menyaksikan runtuhan itu; bahkan adalah mereka itu tidak mengharapkan akan kebangkitan.

اور یہ لوگ اس بستی کی طرف آئے جس پر ہم نے پتھروں کی بوچھار کی تھی تو کیا ان لوگوں نے اسے نہیں دیکھاحقیقت یہ ہے کہ یہ لوگ قیامت کی امید ہی نہیں رکھتے

তারা তো সেই জনপদের উপর দিয়েই যাতায়াত করে, যার ওপর বর্ষিত হয়েছে মন্দ বৃষ্টি। তবে কি তারা তা প্রত্যক্ষ করে না? বরং তারা পুনরুজ্জীবনের আশঙ্কা করে না।
