وَلَا نَّحْنُ وَإِيَّاكُمْ إِنَّ ﴿٣١﴾

Translation

Saheeh International

And do not kill your children for fear of poverty. We provide for them and for you. Indeed, their killing is ever a great sin.

نهی از فرزندکشی

نهی از فرزندکشی در چند جای قرآن کریم تکرار شده و این عمل زشت در حالی که یکی از مصادیق آدم‌کشی است» به طور خاص نیز مورد نهی قرار گرفته است؛ زیرا فرزندکشی از زشت‌ترین مصادیق شقاوت و سنگدلی است. دلیل دیگرش هم این است که اعراب در سرزمینی زندگی می‌کردند که بسیار دچار قحطی می‌شد. از این رو آنان تا نشانه‌های قحطی را می‌دیدند. اولین کاری که می‌کردند» فرزندان خود را برای حفظ آبرو و عزت خود می‌کشتند تا دچار فقر و تهی‌دستی نگردند. سزاوار توجه این که بشر امروز از شنیدن چنین جنایات زشتی در گذشته وحشت‌زده و سراسیمه می‌شود؛ در حالی که همین جنایت در شکل دیگری و به نام سقط جنین در عصر ما و حتی در مترقی‌ترین جوامع انجام می‌گیرد تا از افزایش جمعیت و کمبودهای اقتصادی جلوگیری شود.

    Because of that, We decreed upon the Children of Israel that whoever kills a soul unless for a soul or for corruption [done] in the land - it is as if he had slain mankind…
