So they set out, until when they came to the people of a town, they asked its people for food, but they refused to offer them hospitality. And they found therein a wall about to collapse, so al-Khidh r restored it. [Moses] said, "If you wished, you could have taken for it a payment."

So they went on until they came to the people of a town. They asked its people for food, but they refused to extend them any hospitality. There they found a wall which was about to collapse, so he erected it. He said, ‘Had you wished, you could have taken a wage for it.’

So they twain journeyed on till, when they came unto the folk of a certain township, they asked its folk for food, but they refused to make them guests. And they found therein a wall upon the point of falling into ruin, and he repaired it. (Moses) said: If thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken payment for it.

Then they proceeded: until, when they came to the inhabitants of a town, they asked them for food, but they refused them hospitality. They found there a wall on the point of falling down, but he set it up straight. (Moses) said: "If thou hadst wished, surely thou couldst have exacted some recompense for it!"

So they departed; until, when they reached the people of a city, they asked the people for food, but they refused to receive them hospitably. There they found a wall about to tumble down, and so he set it up. He said, 'If thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken a wage for that.'

پس [هر دو] به راه افتادند تا هنگامی که به مردم شهری رسیدند، از مردمش خوراک خواستند و آنان از اینکه آن دو را مهمان کنند، خودداری کردند. پس در آن شهر، دیواری یافتند که می خواست فرو ریزد، پس او آن را [به گونه ای] استوار کرد [که فرو نریزد]. موسی گفت: اگر می خواستی برای تعمیر آن دیوار، مزدی می گرفتی [که برای خود خوراک فراهم آوریم.]

پس رفتند تا به اهل قریه‌ای رسیدند. از مردم آنجا خوراکی خواستند، و[لی آنها] از مهمان نمودن آن دو خودداری کردند. پس در آنجا دیواری یافتند که می‌خواست فرو ریزد، و [بنده ما] آن را استوار کرد. [موسی‌] گفت: «اگر می‌خواستی [می‌توانستی‌] برای آن مزدی بگیری.»

Yine yola koyuldular; sonunda vardıkları bir kasaba halkından yiyecek istediler. Kasaba halkı, bu ikisini misafir etmek istemedi. İkisi, şehrin içinde yıkılmağa yüz tutan bir duvar gördüler, Musa'nın arkadaşı onu doğrultuverdi; Musa: "Dileseydin buna karşı bir ücret alabilirdin" dedi.

Maka keduanya berjalan; hingga tatkala keduanya sampai kepada penduduk suatu negeri, mereka minta dijamu kepada penduduk negeri itu, tetapi penduduk negeri itu tidak mau menjamu mereka, kemudian keduanya mendapatkan dalam negeri itu dinding rumah yang hampir roboh, maka Khidhr menegakkan dinding itu. Musa berkata: "Jikalau kamu mau, niscaya kamu mengambil upah untuk itu".

پھر دونوں آگے چلتے رہے یہاں تک کہ ایک قریہ والوں تک پہنچے اور ان سے کھانا طلب کیا ان لوگوں نے مہمان بنانے سے انکار کردیا پھر دونوں نے ایک دیوار دیکھی جو قریب تھا کہ گر پڑتی - بندہ صالح نے اسے سیدھا کردیا تو موسٰی نے کہا کہ آپ چاہتے تو اس کی اجرت لے سکتے تھے

অতঃপর তারা চলতে লাগল, অবশেষে যখন একটি জনপদের অধিবাসীদের কাছে পৌছে তাদের কাছে খাবার চাইল, তখন তারা তাদের অতিথেয়তা করতে অস্বীকার করল। অতঃপর তারা সেখানে একটি পতনোম্মুখ প্রাচীর দেখতে পেলেন, সেটি তিনি সোজা করে দাঁড় করিয়ে দিলেন। মূসা বললেনঃ আপনি ইচ্ছা করলে তাদের কাছ থেকে এর পারিশ্রমিক আদায় করতে পারতেন।
